Ok I have a 95 impreza. I pulled the 1.8 out and swapped in a 2.5 dohc out of a, I believe, 98 Forrester. Maybe a yr ago or so? Been having issues with it ever since. I cannot seem to figure it out. First my issues were with, "just take the 1.8 TB off and everything will wire up". I had a nice time figuring out which vacuum lines went where and some of the sensors did not plug right up. The car runs and drives but lacks power, has its days when it does and doesn't. Been leaking oil like crazy, believed to be rear main seal. I haven't had the time or spare vehicle to be able to break my subaru down and take a look. No one has been able to help and no one has any idea about the car, auto shops, with it having a motor swap. Two CELS, one was for exhaust recirculation temp sensor and the other O2. I know the o2 can be a main cause but haven't the chance to get the 150$ sensor. Today the cars lost immense power and dies everytime the clutch is in. I found the drivers side rear cylinder to be dead, swapped plugs and wires still dead. I understand the jist of it all but am asking what I've missed as far as the swap? Anyone have diagrams, better detailed swap info? Cost me 1500 bucks to rebuild the 2.5 and if I wouldhave know that I would have left the 1.8 in and used that money towards a better looking bodied car for the swap. I'm in northern Indiana, is there anyone around mishawaka that would wanna get together and have a look at my poor Subaru? She needs help and Idk what else I can do besides ditch it and start all over on another one or rebuild the old motor and use it as a daily???

Hey man sorry to hear about your car but i have the same exact setup and I feel your pain. The 2.5 never ran good for me off the 2.5 ECU the timing was off and it ran to lean. What coil pack are you using? For me to get spark i had to use the 1.8 coil pack and merge the 2.5 plugs to it. I have no clue whats going when it comes to your car dieing when the clutch is in though. I have daigrams what do you need?
