Odd. There a few people that have the Full-Race twin scroll kit still waiting on them to come in since earlier this year. I believe the single scroll turbos are in surplus while the twin scrolls are way behind.

your maf readings are gonna be allllll wonky with the amount of sharp bends and such.. Can't find a mandrel bent piece and make one with less welds????

I agree with the concern. If I have trouble, I might fabricate a different intake, or I might just go speed density. All I had was straight 3.5" tubing, and I did the best I could with what I had. I was hoping to have a longer straight section for the MAF, but this is how it fit right.

Are you going fmic? Maybe could go blow-thru set-up. I think I threw away all the spare aluminum pipes away.

I'm still a bit undecided on the IC. I have a AWIC that I could use. I'm thinking about a custom radiator/FMIC/rotated manifold setup as well. Really, my first goal is to get it running and driving back down the road, so it will be non-intercooled initially. I might mess around with some water injection.

By April though, with auto-x and road course work that I'm going to be doing, I think I'll be going with the FMIC setup.

Blow through is an option, but I think my intake will work out just fine.

Yeah I kinda abandoned awic idea. With road coarse in mind I don't want it to blow a weld and leak. Have you tried mocking up piping for fmic with current turbo location?

And how is this turbo comparable to 30r? Can't wait for results.

I've not done any mock up of the IC piping. I'll get to that next month hopefully.

This turbo will flow just a bit more than a standard gt3076r. According to my calculations, it will spool just a shade slower than a VF turbo. That is the allure of this turbo for me. I wanted 3076 power, but I didn't want a small power band on my 2.0L. We'll see if my calculations become reality.

Nice. Still staying 2.0? Or going 2.1/2.2? Maybe even 2.5? (jdm v7 has forged internals, 2.0 8k rev+avcs)

I want to build mine eventually....2.63

I'm on the fence. I don't think the 205 is going to take what I'm going to push. Its questionable whether a stock 207 will as well, but it would have a better shot than a 205.

I very well may end up building my own motor. Perhaps a 2.1L. For now, I'm just going to keep things reasonable and hope my 205 stays together. It's lasted 10 years and 170k miles, and is in great health. Here's to hoping that it will live at 400whp....

Around what psi do you think it will make ~400whp?

Broc (04 wrb wrx) has stroker parts for ej205. He got an ad on cl.

So if it does blow, we could instal this on ej257 to see how it would behave

20-25psi I think would get 400whp done. We will just have to see

If I smoke my motor, putting it on your RS might be an option. I don't think your motor is prepared for this bad boy either though You have a spare built motor sitting around that I don't know about? lol

The more I think about it, I'll probably start building a couple of 2.0L's shortly after we get this fab work completed. I'm going to need spares, and we have plenty of spare 205 parts. Give me some practice building EJ's the right way. I'd hate to learn on premium parts...

No built spare just yet. Thought of building spare a longblock... Maybe in spring I'll start getting parts. But looks like there is a bunch of stock 2.5l around 400whp, I just don't want to go over 20-22psi on stock head bolts.

I'm probably getting a blouch 1.5xtr turbo for my bday. 20g that I got is just too small for 2.5

Any updates on this?! Surprised you aren't just going to use carberry for your ECU and run with it!?

^I most likely will in the future. I'm not ready to give up on MAF and move to SD yet. Jason is talking about adding MAF to his rom though.

I wish I had updates. I was in Europe for 10 days on business and just really now got caught up on all of the other responsibilities I have.

I should have updates this weekend. My buddy Joe and I are planning to be in the shop and hopefully getting an afternoon of fab work in. I'm ready to have this car going down the road...

I am planning on selling my car once i get it fixed, and i plan on going back to maf, even if i have to build it on a stock map, i tried jasons sd rom since the first week it came out and i just could never get the a/f right, after many many attempts, this is actually one of the bigger reason im selling it sucks to have a car that has so much potential but drives like a dog.
I have followed the whole build and love what your doing i wish you the best man

Thank you. Why not just go back to MAF then (with a custom intake)? since I know tuning with MAF, that is why I'm sticking with MAF until I know my car is 100% sorted mechanically given all of these changes. I like the idea of SD though....

Really, with the power we have with the stock ecu, a standalone doesn't get you anything, in most cases.

That is one huge turbo and one small engine. I admire the fact you are doing this in house with your own skill and knowledge. What is your end goal a built EJ255/7 or a hybrid

^I'm more likely to stay with a 2.0L variant or close to it, even if I build it. Might end up with a 207. I'm still very much on the fence though, so a built 2.5 hybrid isn't out of the question....
