I wouldn't. Your RAZR will look like tinfoil compared to a real phone.

I check on verizon and it is $650 to upgrade

Damn you Bionic, but the upgrades are coming out for the phone to get it ready for the ICS upgrade at the end of January.

It is 32GB...at least according to Google's page on the Nexus. Or are you referring to them calling it a micro SD card?

(or is it really 64GB like we had all hoped for?)

Ergonamically the GN is the best smartphone I've ever held/used. I'm even ok with the power button on the side now. Just need to pick up a car dock.

Also, screenshots work flawlessly! Even at full retail of $649, this phone was totally worth it.

No

And for those worried about transfering files, No apps required works perfectly on Ubuntu.
Just toggle a setting

I'm fine with 32GB...my OG droid has a 16GB card in it and I'm only using 8GB. Thanks soslow.

How's the device overall? I'm picking it up later today, but would love first impressions, especially if you had the OG droid before.

I also want the multimedia dock, if there is one...and it functions like the OG droid dock.

The car "dock" is a plastic holder. Not a true dock. That really pisses me off.

I did have an OG droid. Came to this from a Tbolt though.

The UI is still has the occasional android stutter/lag here and there. It's still very smooth 90% of the time. the multitasking key is actually pretty awesome once you get used to using it. Fits in the hand beyond well. It just has a certain sexyness to it.

It will take alot of getting used to finding certain things in settings and such however. Anyone who says this device feels cheap is retarded. Bottom line, It's worth every damn penny. Despite being a 4.65 screen it's easy to manipulate one handed (to be fair I have long fingers) and no more hitting the goddamn search button when I'm trying to touch things in the top left corner! I don't miss the physical buttons at all.

EDIT:

Also: Yeah it totally picked up all my bookmarks from google Chrome

Coming from a 3G here. Phone is so freaking fast, and smooth! Now it's time to load up the equivalent apps. Overall, very impressed with the fit and finish. Despite its size, it fits better in a pair of pants than the 3G. I too looked at the accessories and opted not to get any at this moment.

OK so 2 more questions:

1. My OG Droid had crazy lag pulling up the app menu, with it having to redraw/shuffle things in the right place...is that gone?
2. If I had downloaded custom homescreen apps like ADW, will those auto-download on the Nexus? I don't want anything messing with it. Should I uninstall any apps I don't want now on my OG droid before getting it?

Anybody here have a VZW family plan? It's time to upgrade my girlfriend's phone but I'm wondering how this'll work and I trust you guys to give me the correct answers more than the VZW employees.

My line = Droid X2 with grandfathered unlimited data plan. Her line = old flip phone, no data plan. I want to upgrade her to a smart phone which will obviously require a data plan. Will I be able to get her true unlimited data like I have on my line since we're on the same plan or is she SOL?

She is SOL, she goes for the 2GB plan or higher. Up to you.

She's SOL. At least in my experience. When I upgraded my wife like that she had to pick from one of the current data plans offered.

Hopefully Verizon comes through in 2012 with their shared data plans...since my wife barely uses hers and just likes the smartphone capabilities on the device.

Thanks

Now, just to tickle your balls a little more, I'm leaning towards getting her an iPhone 4S because she has an iPod Touch and is used to the apps/interface. However, are any of the <$100 droids any good? Basically I'm either going to go cheap & good or shell out to get her something I know she'll like.

1) Yes

2) If you choose to have it auto restore it will auto install all the apps installed on you Droid.you can go into the market, hit my apps, and stop it from doing that as well (I did that)

Might as well see if I can get it for the same price at the store today... I'll be going at lunch.
Was it a loyalty discount?

If I log into vzw.com, the phone comes up as $250, and then when I click on "Upgrade Device" and it asks me which device it shows that I get a $30 loyalty discount. When I tried to go to the next screen I got an error though. I haven't ried again because I son't want to accidently order a new phone today. I'd rather go tot he store anyway.

So is that an additional 30 off of the 250?

Installing the OTA update now after pushing it off since I got the phone Fun little animation!
http://youtu.be/RW9pJ-ZLKlo

EDIT: Now on 4.0.2. Seems smoother as well.

When I bought it,

Now

Also: There's definately some kind of "bug" related to the USB connection/charging/notifications. It will just start looping the notification sound. weird.

I'm on a family phone with 5 phones. Another line has a $100 credit on it and can only be transferred to one other line that's not mine. Going to have to go into a store and see if they can move it around.

Nexus will be mine today. I drive past a third party place and 2 Verizon stores on my way home.

Near as I can tell the bug is related to plugging the USB cable in. It started when I first plugged it into my desktop and switched the file transfer on. It just loops the notification sound. Stops when you turn the screen off and/or tinker with it. It's most definitely odd.
