I compared my battery stats to a buddy of mine that keeps telling me his battery is awesome while mine sucks at life. After looking at his battery stats his display took up <5% of his battery life over 14 hours and the next highest things were the internet and voice calls. Those tend to make sense to me. After 5 hours of use today here are my battery stats:

Display - 51%
Dialer - 26%
Cell Standby - 8%
Phone Idle - 7%
Wifi - 5%
Internet - 3%

I did this over 5 hours because it was as long as I could keep track of what I was doing. My use during this time included about 20 minutes of the screen being on (looking at emails, checking texts, internet, etc), 0 phone calls, 2.5 hours of FM radio, and about 10 minutes of being on the internet. My display brightness is on about 15-20% and times out at 30 seconds if I happen to not turn it off myself. What is causing my display and dialer to take up that much battery? Have an EVO with 2.3 on it but it's been like this since I had 2.2. I just figured it was normal until I looked at my buddies phone. Sorry if a question like this has been asked before, I quit following the original android thread a while ago. Thanks for any help.

Its the size of a usb and you can permenately leave it hooked to the tv unlike a phone you have to connect/reconnect, no wires, and its a lot cheaper than a phone. Also its a cpu in usb form, to me its very impressive.

Called verizon today and tried to be sneaky. Aske when they were opening on Thursday for selling to nexus. Hoping the guy would know something and tell me. But all he said was they don't even have any info on when the release is.

Seems fishy

I knew I should have ran out the Verizon store with the Nexus when I had the chance. They wouldn't have caught me.

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to navigate the OS. Plus it has 1080p res. I've been using old laptops as media centers hooked to my tv using vga and audio cables and this seems like a smaller, faster, cheaper alternative to buying a comp with that res, and an hdmi port. It doesn't take much to excite me apparently.

I concur, but I would use it more for movies, Internet browsing and the other 100000 non game apps that the android market has to offer.

Accourding to another leaked AD, this one from Costco its supposed to be thursday.

http://www.webpronews.com/galaxy-nex...r-15th-2011-12

http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/13/v...n-december-15/

Also that one shows a supposed Verizon stores screen it being thursday.

I hope its this week, best buy is running 50 dollars of 4g phones. That 100 coupon doesn't apply to my area (St Louis), Verizon told me it was Chicago area.

Posting in here so this thread is in my User CP. I am not adding anything to this conversation. I know somebody will click this because there was an update hoping it is a release date for the GN. I am not sorry.

questions
1. why did we need a new ver2 thread started
2. I'm getting my wife a tablet (asus transformer not the new one), any problems using the same gmail account on both devices? I'm worried about tracking updates, install the same apps on multiple devices.
3. SQ iphone lemmings really??

dwmoss is still happy with his old school captivate!!

1) performance degrades above 10k post thus mods lock and version 2 is started.
2) no problems
3) sq has been mad since the germans bombed pearl harbor.

once you get the nexus you will hate your captivate.

Anyone want a Droid Bionic?
POS I have to reboot every single morning for it to get data going. Even though it shows full bars and wifi working.

Yes, I have tried everything, from fresh system install, to the leaked new version. As well as all the ROMs available for the phone. Same thing. *sigh*
