It's a business. They're not in it to get you maximum value while barely covering costs, they're looking to charge what the market will bear and I understand that.

This isn't for everyone and isn't something I'd do more than once, but it's a fun thing that'll realistically take the whole afternoon what with driving and instruction and simulator and such for a couple hundred.

Well...Main is 2 miles, but I think the longest course around Shenandoah is about 2.3 miles. Hmmmm...I wonder if they got the distance wrong or the track? If it is in fact main or Shenandoah, I'd do it.

So wait...where exactly does it say it's on Jefferson?

Edit: See it in the questions/answers section. I posed the question asking if it's is in fact on the Jefferson, or if they got the circuit name wrong. We'll see...

I'm not going to question it right now... I'm gonna question it around about the time I actually show up for my session with the printout that says 2.3 miles

I'm with you - if it's Jefferson, nevermind. Let us know what you find out.

I printed it out and will bring it with. So long as I get 3 laps at ~2.3 miles per lap, or 6-7 total miles, I'll be quiet.

Summit is a little short for a 100.00 lap.

Yup, and it would be exactly the same sort of driving experience. On test drives I routinely hit 140+mph heading into a 45mph corner, just like turn 1 at Summit. As a matter of fact, every time I go to a track day I say to myself, "Man, I'm so stupid to pay to do this, when I could just drive my car on the street and get the same effect."

Pretty sure I don't make enough to go take test drives at the Ferrari dealer.

With only one lap, you won't get to gun it down the main straight into turn one.

I saw your question (and the same sort of question from a couple of other people) and the response. Jefferson.

Yeah. The old bait & switch. That's just lame. I'd be majorly pissed if I paid to run a 2.3 mile track, and show up to find the it's less than half that.

Yeah, I asked the "which track?" question too. Funny that most people round Jefferson Circuit down to 1.1 while he touts it as 1.2. That plus the 2.3 mile description in the Groupon deal make me wonder what else this group glosses over.

You mean he was. HBL no longer is an Aston Martin dealer. They still service them and still are a certified Aston collision center, but I don't know what Pieter is doing. Check out the website and you'll see, no Astons for sale.

http://www.astonmartinoftysonscorner.com/new-cars.aspx

The Aston Martin and Smart showrooms are gutted and Porsche is moving in from across the street.

I'm kinda skeptical. No instructor names, no real contact info or addresses, wrong info and maps of tracks, mostly a catchy website to collect your $. Anyone check link to the UK version of their organization? Little recourse if they don't live upto providing tracktime other than creditcard chargeback considering they are in the UK. Has anyone asked Jens or Summit Point to confirm they've rented the track?

A guy continues to scam want-to-be racers with his fancy Robin Hood Rally website. http://www.robinhoodrally.com/productcart/pc/home.asp The first year there was a some unorganized racing but only a quarter of what was promised, and the Ferrari, Corvette & Porsche grand prizes advertised were never awarded and the promised TV show never aired. For the wealthy racers who got burned it was easier to accept as a lesson learned than to hire a lawyer to attempt to recoup their entry fees.

I talked to Pieter yesterday.

Good news! Aston Martin of America revoked HBL's sales license (is that the right term?) due to them not wanting to out of their way to get sales. So, Pieter is opening his OWN Aston Martin dealership across the street next year. He already has Aston Martin with him, investors, and an agreement with the building owners. He said they will also be selling other high end sports cars such as SLRs and upper tier Porsches.

Likely more that HBL stopped paying Aston Martin dealership fees because the low sales of the new cars didn't justify being a dealer any longer.

He specifically said it was because HBL was not willing to go OUT and make sales. AMoA wanted them to do things like drive cars out to horse races and talk to patrons and HBL would not do it. They didn't offer the level of service Aston Martin wanted.

Who goes car shopping at a horserace? It wasn't my imagination that I'd see Pieter most every Saturday at Cars & Coffee in Great Falls showcasing the wares to wealthy car people or all the entire Aston Martin of Tysons staff at the trackday they hosted this summer on Shenandoah circuit. There is more to the story than he is telling you.

I wish him luck and will likely still be doing business w/ him and the new company but doubt Mercedes or Porsche will be sending him new cars when they both have a dealership right there. Saw Mercedes of Tysons deliver a SLS off the showroom floor last Thursday.

I did it couple of weeks ago and I will do it again, it was at Jefferson. the most interesting part is that you can have a video of the experience and also buy more laps with the same car or with another one. All team was great, congratulations !!
Looks like Racingbox have deals really often and for special days, I will be checking their website or their deals because I will like to give it as a present to my father .. of course I am gonna purchase other one for me!!
the price is worth it.

i had a scheduled date and for some reason they cancelled it and rescheduled and they gave me double the laps i purchased, so i got 4 laps for 150 bucks, i drove the lambo and for a person who has only been within 10 feet from a lambo all his life all i can say is WOW!! I loved it, it was an experience ill never forget, it might be pricey but hey its not everyday u get to drive a half million dollar sports car! He only lets you push it to 5k rpm which might sound crappy but it was enough to get my 95mph in the straightaway. The video i would have bought if it wasnt so damn expensive, 70 bucks for a two min dvd was not worth it IMO. My cousin who went with me bought it and it was not even all that.
