Default Other intakes

Is there any chance that Cobb is going to add different intakes on there maps for the older subarus? may be a dumb quest but thought I would ask.

We don't have any immediate plans to do so, but we are always looking at improving our offerings (just a matter of time and resources). What specific intake support were you looking for and for what vehicle(s)?

It's a 2003 wrx. And it's an AEN cold air.

Thanks for the feedback. We definitely get requests for different intakes maps for older cars. Right now we have some other stuff in the pipeline (like speed density), but we will definitely be looking at map updates for the older cars at some time in the future (we recently revised the 02-05 WRX maps). I can't say for sure what intakes will covered (if any) - we will have to evaluate that when the time comes.

Im pretty new at the whole accessport thing... I have the same question for my 2009 wrx. Are there maps available to work with my invidia cbe and K&n intake?

For the 08-12 WRX, our maps only support the stock, Cobb SF, and AEM intake. If you wish to run the K&N intake, you'll need to get a custom tune via a protuner or, if you have some experience tuning yourself, you can do so via our AccessTUNER software that is free with purchase of AccessPORT version 2:
http://accessecu.com/register/cobb.php

The other option, of course, would be to put the stock intake back on or use the Cobb SF or AEM intake.

Is there anyway that someone could pay allitle extra and get a tune made for a different intake. Im not willing to take the car back to stock intake or pay for another intake.

Yes, you can find a local protuner who uses our tuning software to come up with a custom tune:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/dealers/

Additonally, some protuners will also do an e-tune in which they create and revise maps via email.

There are a number of e-tuners that may take this on. An e-tuner will handle everything via email. It is a case where they send you map, you reflash it, take logs, and send the log to them where they revise the map, etc.

Will using an intake that's not for the OTS maps cause any performance issues or worse engine damage?

Sorry for the newb questions just wants to get the facts straight.

The answer would be "possibly". There is no absolute yes or no answer. It all depends on the intake used and how bad it skews the MAF signal. AEM has made at least 2-3 different reversions of their intake for the 02-05 WRX's.This question has been covered about a million times on NASIOC..............

I have read a lot of the forums on this topic but they all say there's a possibility of problems. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any personnel experience with this.
