I think now you're getting why I gut the car before going to the track lol... also why I just picked up the aluminum bumper beam.

My goal is 2700lbs dry once this thing isn't my dd. I think the clutch when combined with an act street flywheel shaves off 12 lbs.... other than that the weight removal on the crank pulley and ds aren't as effective because the moment on those is already so small. The big savings is in the clutch/fly, and wheels and brakes. Even if those wilwoods are lighter, being a larger diameter may hurt you more than the weight helps (aluminum hats are nice savings though), just food for thought.

I just removed both bumper beams

Since dry weight now is 2934 I could see another 234. I mean that's gutted full interior though. I know the wilwood 4 pots are -26lb and 99% sure OEM size. The rears are getting made now so I'd guess another -20 there. -13.4lb on the drive shaft. You gotta weigh your OEM hood! I do plan on getting a CF hood and trunk but I don't think it's much. My trunk is already light! I'd guess on both maybe -15-20lb if your lucky. I know the clutch/flywheel is another -20ish if you go full Carbonetic. Hell right there your at 100 lb with full interior.

i know gutting the inside and sound deadner will drop some more so it will be close. the problem with me is ill add it right back when i put in a role cage for the track. id guess those have to be at least 200-300 lbs.

no i dont. to me any subi with a EL header sounds the same. a ton quieter than UEL header, smooth, clean, more evo sounding but not 100% ricer/civic. you tube exhaust cutout and ewg and there you go.

i guess on my car its hard to tell everything though because there is so much! i mean on spool up the intake is sucking like mad! the turbo is whining like crazy. the ewg opens and you hear all that. the exhaust is loud in boost. and then the cutout is like a vibrating freight train! just so much going on.

cant wait for one day to get straight cut gears to add to the madness!!

A chromoly cage is in the 125 lb range if I recall correctly... use the right stuff and it's not too much added back in.

My oem hood weighed in at 45 + guts when I took it off. The seibon weighs in at about 20-21, and I swapped the guts onto it but cut maybe a lb off when I hacked up the insulation to not cover the vents.

I just don't feel good completely removing both bumper beams on a dd. If I'm going to the track and back, sure, but that's why I'm going aluminum on the front one. I may just leave the rear one OEM to help out with the f/r weight distribution.

Phatbotti has no real location. We contract. We are from CT and CA, and travel all over the continent. I use a few dyno's in the northeast, and consider one in Norwalk, CT my home. Not having a facility enables us to extend our customer base world wide.

I did work with that 11.50 stock turbo car too

Very impressive man....Do you believe you can street tune a car just as effective as a dyno tune? I know some tuners do a street tune after they dyno tune. Do you think e85 is much more forgiving than meth/pump/racegas? I am shooting for 11.60s without any serious weight reduction. Maybe the spare and pass seat at most. I def think its possible with a good 60ft....like 1.65. Oh yea one more question...I was going to get tuned on my winter rims which are 24lbs vs my summer rims which are 15lbs...is that gonna kill my dyno numbers?

I'm not a tuner, but mine always says if you're knocking on E85 you're doing something horribly wrong.

We even had a pull run up to 12.8-13.0:1 AFR early on at one point and not a blip, egt's kept below 1450* too.

i'm just wondering if the PnP grimmspeed manifolds will make any difference at all. everyone raves about them(hence why they're sitting in a box right next to me haha). i wish i could do a before and after with JUST THEM. aka first one ever but unfortunately i'm doing tgv deletes as well. i've heard it's a great combo and p&l recommended(Paul did anyways).

oh syno, how did you like your perrin pulley, i had one on my 05 LOVED it but i bought a grimmspeed this time around for the 09.

The only thing I am not liking is where your torque falls off in your rpm range. The numbers are surely impressive but it just starts falling off fairly quickly around 4500 RPMs.

the mph and time are what i did bone stock, 13.3 at 101. the hp is irrelevant. something doesnt seem right at that stage 2 unless its the worst track in the world and 100+ or no traction and freezing out.

I made 2 11 second pulls on a stock 2.0 with afr's at 13.3:1 on E85 one night when I forgot my laptop.... looked up in 4th on the first pass, saw the wideband... prayed for a good outcome... it lived, so I did it again

With all that weight reduction you guys should be going faster than me....the only stock turbo sti's that are going faster than me are gutted and aren't running stock engines. Taking out the those crash beams is crazy man, you rear end somebody and you will be sorry bro. Nice build tho, I will post a thread soon. Hitting the dyno monday, will have my fresh rims on too, fmic is installed with all the other parts. Ill post some nice pics and dyno numbers....mustang dyno tho so you know they will be lower than most. Thats where timeslips come into play
