Default 2.5i impreza hatch upgrade questions.

I put a cosmo racing cold air intake and a tsudo catback on my car.

I know that the tsudo catback with the wider pipes causes my torque curve to be be shifted to be on the higher end, but what worries me is a read that the cosmo racing cold air intake is bad for my car without a tune. I was told by the company that all i have to do is reset my ecu for it to relearn the fuel to air ratio, but is that true. Thanks.
