It is on consignment for now. Funny story, but when I purchased the car they told me that the fujita down pipe was the only mod. I had a check engine light come on one day while driving. I brought it in to Stanley Nissan because I had an extended service plan. When they lifted it up it didn't have any cats and it had a few extras that immediately voided my warranty. With only 80 psi in cylinder four. So, either they sell it or they fix it. Selling it is cheaper, but if that doesn't happen they may need to either replace a piston or a short block.... I guess we'll see. I really miss my car though.... lol

Just fix it. Then you still have it. In the grand scheme of things, you would be better off having a running car, rather than selling one that's borked.

That .pdf was a good read. I didn't know any of that.

Where did you buy the car, and where is it now?

I purchased it from Variety motors. And it's there now. I sold cars years ago, so I knew if i got a service plan with it I should be covered. ;-)

Personally, I would demand a new engine, with compensation. One installed by a competent Subaru mechanic(think dealership here). Or try and get your money back.

If they sell the car like that, what prevents someone from coming after you as well as the dealer for knowledge of the previous engine problems? Not to mention the moral issues I have with selling a car that has known major mechanical issues for full price.

I have a tear down scheduled for next week. I just want them to fix it so I can enjoy my car. They think it's going to be something simple like a new ring or seal, but I have my doubts. I really don't want to get rid of it at all, but.....
