Default Can anyone in Ottawa pull CEL codes?

Hey all,
Last night my car threw a CEL while I was crusing in 5th gear @ 100km/h after about about 5 minutes of driving at that speed.
Does anyone in the Ottawa area have one of thoes code puller dealies and would be willing to help me out?
Any idea on what the dealerships charge for pulling a code around here? I can only imagine what they would charge...

Cheers!
Chad

$25? are you serious... you'd figure since the car is under warranty that it should be free.....

Default PM Sent!

Sent you a PM Stu, thanks so much!

Robin, I don't think my car is under warranty for that kind of stuff anymore. I'm currently @ 71,3xx Km on the ODO. So I'm past the 3 year 60K warranty and I don't think the 5 year 100K covers electronics, CEL's etc etc... and no doubt whatever is going on, will end up costing me money somehow It just seems to be the way things are going these days

Thanks,
Chad

PM'd you back. No problems.

I thought that emmisions warranties were (by law) at least 5yrs.
We'll pul the code and see. From the description in the PM, it could
be front sensor (and a P013x) code.

In any case, there was a service bulletin for RS front O2 sensors
so it may still be covered, if that's the problem. Check your warranty
booklet as well.

Yup, $25 is what Westboro charged (0.25 hrs labour + Tax) to
pull a code. I think if they pull it and it is under warranty there is
no charge, but if they do anything and it isn't under warranty you
get dinged for the "diagnostic" charge. I got "burned" because I
had to lengthen the wires of the front sensor to fit the Brullen
headers. That's how I know how much it costs lol.

That little OBD package has paid for itsef a number of times over
already.
