TGV Delete ( with rods still in place but grinded down )

Ok so right now the car wont start. It sounds like it's about to start but doesn't. It kind of does that hesitant sputter.

Some background: The car was running fine but suddenly started spurting oil out of the VVT oil line on the passenger side. So since I had to take the whole intake manifold off I figured I would do the TGV delete that everyone was doing.

Well I replaced the oil line and put the manifold back on the car and go to start her up and it's just the starter going... CEL codes indicate the TGV's are not working. Grr... so in my haste I put them back together incorrectly. This time I took my sweet ole time and made sure everything was put together correctly and the rods were in the normal / correct position.

I clear the CEL codes and go to start the car and it starts to sputter for a second and then nothing but the starter noise.... BUT no CEL's this time!

When I started the car I noticed a strange whooshing sound of fluid when I turned the key but before actually trying to start it... So that led me think I might have swapped the fuel lines!?

I pulled out my trusty haynes manual and in all their glory dont have any info for the baja specific... I dont have a fuel filter and it just says the fuel supply line is the one coming from the FPR... but on my car both the supply and return lines have these black circular thing-a-ma-bob's that I thought were pressure regulators so I have no clue which one is which.... ANY IDEA's?

So if I did mistakenly swap the supply and return lines did I possibly do major damage?

THANKS in advance for all your help!

Chris
