Default 06 STi ignition issues.

not sure where to post this, hope this is the right spot.

For the past 2 weeks I've been having an issue with starting my 06 STi (all stock). What's happening is that on a cold start I will turn the key to start the car and nothing happens. I can hear a high pitched whine for approx 5-10 seconds. I roll the key back and forth from off to ignition about 15-20 times holding the key in ignition for the duration of the whine each time and eventually the car will start. Once it's started I can turn the car off for a few minutes and back on and it will start fine.

I'm guessing the whine that i'm hearing is the fuel pump. I've tested the battery and it's fine. Could be the starter i suppose but I'm guessing that the issue is with the fuel pump/ losing fuel pressure if the car sits too long, however there aren't any issues with the car once it's started.

I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me on troubleshooting this issue. I'm afraid that it's getting worse and one day soon I won't be able to start the car at all. Thanks in advance.

i now think it's the clutch switch... i can get it to start a lot quicker if I wiggle the switch around a little bit. does anyone have any advice on replacing the switch?
