Default EJ20 IACV rear seal question

Wanted to replace my rear seal that seals around the check valve in back of the iacv. The original part # is 22660AA000 But it was "replaced" by part # 806927010.

I figured no harm in this its not the first time i look for a part number that has changed.

Well i recieved it today .. can someone please explain to me how this is the new and improved part that replaces the original ?

Old design seal to the left, New design seal (o-ring) to the right

Interesting. I have a few extra IACVs and opened one tonight and the only thing similar with the diaphragm, no o-ring, or anything else. Does the new o-ring fit around the diaphragm?

^ By diaphragm do you mean the check valve to the far left or the thicker proper sized seal to the left ?

In any case no it doesn't fit over anything but it is the same size as the original thick one just no where near as thick as you can see in the photo , I'm thinking SOA messed up somewhere here...

Sorry, yes - the check valve. The funny thing is I took my IACV off a long block and there were no o-rings of any kind. I'm thinking the previous owner lost/forgot to install the original when he painted the IM.

^ If he didn't have that big black seal how was your check valve holding there in place ? that would of been a huge boost leak

Default Re: EJ20 IACV rear seal question

I have not used the IACV from this engine. I was robbing the engine for parts and removed the valve to paint the IM and noticed the check valve just fell out when I removed the valve.

This is a very old thread, hoping you still check this. Did you ever come to any conclusions about this? My rear seal is also loose and is causing a boost leak.
