I don't know if this helps but it's the same as USDM 1989-1998 Legacy 2.2 SOHC and Impreza RS 2.5 DOHC.

The crank and cam trigger signals are the same for all engines up to 2000. After that the crank and cam wheel pickups were changed.

You can confirm a K cam gear will work using a G crank sprocket and a G ecu?

I'm not familiar with the EMS4 trigger options. If there is an option for WRX ver. 1-6 try that.

Is ECU set to sequential, simi-sequential or batch fire? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it should be set to sequential For direct fire coils IIRC.

Yes the EJ20K and EJ20G crank sprockets are the same, and the cam sprockets can be interchanged aswell (metal EJ20G sprockets and later EJ20G and EJ20K plastic resin sprockets have the same cam gear signals).

AEM isn't really common for Subaru's especially early ones. It's more of a Honda scene thing.
