Hello great people of NASIOC. I bought a 2011 SWP WRX back in October of last year. Needless to say, I was incredibly excited when I first took delivery and sat in the driver's seat. I had owned a 2003 silver bugeye back in 2005, and a buddy of mine totaled it on the mass pike so I've always wanted to get back into one, and what better generation than this one? Well about two weeks into owning the current WRX, it was broken into by dirty, ruthless thieves, and my GPS was taken (which was in the center console I might add). I could really care less about the GPS, but the fact they broke my driver's window kinda preturbed me because I had to go through the hassle of getting that fixed. I get the car back and I'm back on cloud nine. About 2 weeks later, we had a crazy snowstorm in western MA and we accumulated about a foot of snow in a short time, and caused mass chaos with downed trees, lines, and a week-long power outage. During the power outage, I was picking up a buddy to go to the gym (one of the few places that had hot water, and power) and some ***hole cut me off trying to get into a dunkin donuts. He was driving a 1999 chevy blazer and he hit me in the fender and in the front bumper. It took about a month and a half to get my car back. I finally have it back, and I'm enjoying it as much as possible. Just thought I'd share my crazy story about my car in a very short amount of time. I'll present pics in chronological order lol...

When I first bought her...

This is how the car sits now in winter mode...

Hopefully my streak of bad luck is gone lol. Future plans are a good alarm with remote start, new speakers, and Cobb AP. I hope nobody has to experience what I had to experience these last two months. I was enraged every day driving around my rental Impala LS every day lol.

Hooliganism and reckless driving is aplenty in Springfield... hope the books closed in terms of the downs of ownership. Great color choice! Bertera?

Yes sir, there isn't a single soul who can drive properly in this city. And yes Bertera. I've had two great experiences there now. I know a lot of people dont like them, not this guy. I've been treated with great respect there.

Lol, I think we've all done a ton of things we wish we hadn't. Nobody DESERVES bad things to happen to them. My bugeye was totalled by my mechanic, did I deserve that? Probably not....I am a firm believer in karma however, just wish it didn't come in the form of my new ****ing car lol.

The front bumper is fine because they blended with the hood, fenders, and front pillars. What's bad is the blend job they did with the driver fender and door. The new paint can easily be seen in contrast to the old at the middle of the driver door and rear driver side door. But only during the night in certain light. During the day it's nearly impossible to tell. I was told it had to do with the clearing process. I was also told that it would never be perfect, unless I had the whole car repainted. I'm thinking about getting the whole driver side repainted soon, we'll see.

I've been told by just about every body shop, its impossible to match/blend perfectly. It's just a special paint...

It's actually tint. I got it done simultaneously with the windows. It makes backing up @ night somewhat of a chore, but I can handle it and I think it sets the car apart.

There are so many factors involved in painting this color, it crazy.

3-stage, base coat, pearl coat, then clear coat.
All three will have different thicknesses and if one is off, it's done...

Even If you got the same paint, pearl and clear used in Japan when the car was sprayed it's still tough if the mix was wrong.

If it bugs you crazy I have a shop in NY that will nail the blend so perfect that I can almost guarantee you'll never find where they sprayed too. He's way over priced but its the closest to OEM that I've ever seen on a handful of SWP subies.

It bugs the piss out of me man, but I'm just not willing to pay out of pocket. I knew the minute this jabroni hit me, my car would never look the same no matter where I took it. I wanted to return the car lol. However, I do appreciate the offer...
