2012 STi AP installed - now car wont start

I received my new AP and installed it, everything appeared to go exactly like it should. It recognized the car correctly, backed up the stock flash then applied the stg 1 93 flash. When it finished the install of the new map the car now wont start. Any ideas? I have read several posts from Bill@Cobb saying this is nromal and to leave the car in the on position for 5-10 seconds, I have tried that about 10 times so far with no luck.


FIXED - reset the ecu again by pulling the neg batt cable and pumping brakes and I have a car again.

i dont know the answers... but if it was me (at this time of night when i couldnt reach cobb), i would make sure my a/p was up to date. had the correct maps... and if it did, i would try to install the stock flash back.

Hi there. Sorry for your troubles. We've identified an issue with some of the later model Subarus where they may fail to exit programming mode after installing the AccessPORT (or potentially reflashing a map). This doesn't hurt anything other than the vehicle won't start. The solution, as you discovered, is to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery (and then obviously re-connect). We are working on a fix for this and will make an annoucement when it is ready.

No worries and thanks for confirming that it is a known issue. I would suggest you guys throw up a known issue and workaround solution page on your website. It is a little disconcerting to feel like you just created a very expensive soap box derby car.

Now my biggest problem is I am relatively sure that stg 1 isnt going to keep me happy for long.
