Okay so heres the deal...im going to admit im a little noob when it comes to subies. i myself have a 03 evo this is my wifes car....but anyways heres the deal on my way home from work i was on the fwy and noticed a smell of burning oil so i asked my friend and he said he didnt smell anything so i thought i was trippin. then when i went to get off the fwy i came to the light and pushed the clutch in and all of the sudden my car died!!....so i started it again and went to the nearest gas station to check it out(100m from where it died) i went to pull in there and it did the same thing! so i coasted to a parking spot lol and opened the hood and then some white smoke came out and a strong smell of burnt oil so i checked the oil and the oil was full but Deffinetly burnt, so then I checked the coolant(little low but deffinetly nothing to over heat over and i topped it off just to be safe after it cooled down of course. so i waited for about 30 mins or so and tried to start it and it didnt start at all...good thing i had road side assistance to tow it to my house 20miles away! Any suggestions/ solutions are very much apreciated thank you. Here is a list of helpfull info that may help...

MODEL: 02 WRX
ENGINE: 05 STI swap
TURBO: 20G Deadbolt
OIL I USE: Rotella T6
Coolant: All weather forget the name
Radiator: Aftermarket Koyo

HOPE THAT HELPS

I don't have anything to plug into the ecu to check for codes.

And yes it does crank and wants to start but never turns over...gas is good I'm running on 91 octane and I just filled up at a shell a day prior to this.

I don't understand exactly what you mean by check for air??

A lot of parts stores will loan you a scan tool if you leave them your credit card number. Or you can find some real cheap ones from Harbor Freight that work just fine.

You need three things to have combustion: fuel, air, and spark
That was my (rushed) attempt to say that you need to make sure that those three things are getting to the cylinders.

Barring an engine blockage, seized bearing, or something else catastrophic like your oil light coming on before the engine stops then check fuses, relays, sensors, fuel pump, etc

Or find a local recommended shop...

Ouch, does not sound good.

Good luck and hope it goes as painless as possible with the mechanic.

Did you get this car new or used? I'm assuming used since you said it's always read hot...

How many miles is on it? and if it's used, do you know any of the maintenance that's been performed on it?

Got it used tac says 190k but with the swap it has only 58k on it...

Previous owner said the maintenance was kept up being he didn't drive it much but as soon as I got it I changed all fluids
