A FWD should win-out in a low speed test like slalom.

I really looked hard at this car, but at the end of the day I ca't make myself by another fwd car. 1 driving disaster was enough. FWD cars shouldn't have over 180 hp.

fixed what you said

I just traded up from a base nonturbo Veloster to a VT, there is no torque steer when you plant your foot and accelerate straight out. Yes, the suspension setup is the same as the nonturbo car and the rear is still as skittish and squirrely when hard cornering in bumpy corners, but I still love the cabin and tech and find it such an enjoyable car to sit in when stuck in traffic on my daily commute. Now I actually have the power to pass traffic on the freeways as well.

Just hate the stupid blue interior accents that come with the turbo tech package.

Hey Ed, the blue accent color is one of two options, you could get grey instead on the VT with the tech package.

Looks good. How much power did the non turbo have?

Totally, but the car I wanted in the specs with a color I wanted (either blue, white, or silver), the only one avail in 100 miles had the stupid blue trim. So I took it.

138hp, its a pretty asthmatic engine, fine for daily drive commuting but I quit trying to play the 'freeway passing game' with most larger cars because I knew I'd be wasting my time and fuel.

I maintain that 138 is an overstatement. We dynoed mine at 109 at the wheels. Then again, the intake and exhaust are horrendously restrictive. I think I picked up 9hp from just an SRI, not because it was brilliantly designed, but because the stock design is that terrible.

Honestly if that car had a Honda badge, kids would be running for clean underwear. It's a stylish hatch with touch of sportiness. I find nothing wrong with the car myself. So what if it's FWD? AWD isn't for everyone.

dynamically it doesn't even begin to approach what the styling suggests.

I'm actually glad it doesn't have a Honda badge, if that means it'll keep many of those retard kids away from the car for a while

That is an interesting looking solution, would love to see US owners install a system like that and report results (and no,I'm not willing to be a Guinea pig)

I don't see how that would work. The beam is still connected, and if those bars aren't totally parallel with the ground, the geometry gets all messed up.

Whoa there, not to change the subject, but reading some of the derpiness from the various BRZ threads, even RWD cars shouldn't have over 200hp, so FWD cars probably lose their usefulness at about 80hp...

Anyway, back on topic, I saw a VT this weekend, I'm a sucker for center exit exhausts (I guess it's from growing up in the 80s where my role models were all yuppies and drove cars with center exit exhausts), it's a great looking car. It's not a horrible power/weight, and I'm sure the 200 torque helps make it feel a bit more pepped up.

HeavyD has it right, if it had a Honda badge people would be loading their shorts over this thing. It's not a bad car, and for the price, it's actually a great car.

The problem is what they have to do to get that center exit exhaust. It involves two U-shaped bends. It's horrendous, and it's the dumbest ****ing exhaust design I've ever seen.

I'm sick of symmetry dictating form. God forbid the exhaust come out one side! No reason the BRZ or any of these 4 cylinder cars should have twin exhaust exits. "Lets have 2 exhaust exits. Yeah! And then each exit will have 2 tips! Totally! Then we'll oversize them from what the pipe diameter actually is! Wow, this 195hp 4 cyl is going to look killer!"

It's a dog**** design decision. The 1.6 in the Veloster is an anemic, wheezing little thing, and the exhaust strangles what little power it has. It is an unfathomably stupid design.

It's not a reversible mod and requires welding and fab to work. Yeah, no

I'm waiting for the day someone comes out with a McLaren F1-style center seat mod for their car. MUST... BE... SYMMETRICAL!
