This suppose to compete with the BRz and the Scion?
Its $25k and has less power. I see it a fail unless they can make it cheaper than the latter.

For some reason, the car looks too similar to a Bmw 135i.

Anyone else notice the 2nd concept of the 130 they didn't really show too much? It actually looks really nice:

call me crazy but the 130 concept they showed kinda reminds me of an updated nissan s13 coupe. I think it is the square roofline and extended, flat hood

I don't know if anyone's already mentioned this, but a shooting brake version of this (a la Ferrari FF or M Coupe) would seriously have me in a Chevy dealership. Someone please photoshop this!

Couple small quick changes in photoshop:

-Did a small tweak to the rear pillar in photoshop. Just made it angle more, and come a couple inches further back on the car. I think it improves the car dramatically and could most likely be be easily achieved...

-Got rid of the hatch/trunk line that comes down into the profile of the car, they should definitely change that.

I think this is going to wind up being another mistake. When Subaru releases an Sti variant of the brz, chevy wont have an answer. Or if they do its going to be too little too late. When it comes down to it, most people if they had a choice between lets say an SS version of code 130R or a Brz Sti, most people will chose the brz.

Yeah, no. If anything, you would be way more likely to see an SS version of this. GM has never been shy about releasing a hot model of anything even remotely sporty. If this goes to production (it's still blue sky at this point) the SS will be planned and in development long before the car actually launches, and will probably come out in the first year if not at launch. Thus far, other than wishful thinking there has been nothing indicating any BRZ STI is actually on the way. And if only due to the size of their dealer network alone, Chevy will sell far more of anything in practically any segment than Subaru. I'm not saying I like this more than the BRZ, but that is just reality.

Im not necessarily arguing numbers here. I guess more just questioning GMs ability's here to pull the trigger. Agreed when you look at the cobalt, first years were SS models. However looking at an underpowered SS or wrx that were the same price and awd, why go chevy? Then a few years later, they fixed that with a turbo vesion, then 3 years later killed it, when the could finally compete in their market. I see the same thing happening again.

Trying to compete with with an underpowered variant. I suppose not everything is about power, and chevy is improving their cheap plastic interiors. Its just to me when people are saying this should have been the new camaro already, it seems to me chevys behind the times.

Tons more, and the only answer Chevy will have is to throw a big motor in there! I might also point out that if they stick to current trends the prototype will look awesome and at the last minute they will change it....

Chevy just can't do it for some reason. Like the seats in a ZO1 Vette. You think they would put some nice holding Recaros..but no a flat lump of stuffing. Subaru can learn something too.
