so i cut some self adhesive closed cell foam padding and made a key guard. problem solved.

this is version 1 for now, I'll certainly be coming back to retrace and cut out a more OE looking shape to fit the curves etc better
Any chance you could link the material? I believe I found the same stuff but I'm feeling extra lazy this week. I'm going to need a lot of this stuff.

Thanks! I'm very critical about it. I look at it sometimes and still wanna tweak it. I'm thinking I will end up with a Prodrive lip molded on at some point. Idk.

I had a holder that was just lying around so i made a mount for it. Mine mounts like so.

Easy access to screen controls when I rest my hand on the e-brake. I have full swivel control plus portrait-to-landscape capability. Best of all, NO DRILLING AND NO NASTY ADHESIVES!!! Swivel made possible by magnets.

Don't listen to them, it looks great, better than 95% of the mounts on here.

I've done that too! I HATE the noise of my keys hitting the plastic...it's the sound that makes me punch infants!

Whoah! Whoah! Whoah! Easy there. Everyone knows you don't punch infants. You shake them.

Here's some things I did last week. I wired mine and my girlfriend's phone chargers out of the way and hardwired my radar detector by cutting the cord that came with it and using a phone cable. Then I took the smart cord part apart and custom mounted the mute button and lights.

I put my mute button right next to my seat, near the ebrake. Is it difficult to set it up like that?

I thought about putting it in the other blank switch holder. But it wasn't comfortable to press it like that. This wasn't hard. I placed the sticker cover from the mute button over it to mark the holes and drilled them out. Then I jb welded the circuit board in the back. It fit perfectly. But I broke the sticker lol so I made a new cover out of some plastic and painted it

I made it myself.

I started by buying this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-SAMSUNG-...item19c3d93020

I then modified the stock bezel to cover gaps , as the touch screen is smaller than the hole left behind from your radio. Alternatively you can have a doubledin aftermarket style frame with buttons, but i was after a OEM look.

Including software (with NAVTEQ GPS maps and bluetooth) it was $500 (given i already have a PC btw).
This includes many additional parts like wireless portable keyboard, usb GPS, usb bluetooth, automotive interior microphone etc
