Oh, whew, that is good to know.

Your ability to break the law and not get caught was my primary worry/concern when I saw the results of your effort. Shame on others who may think that you might endanger drivers and vehicle occupants.

It does look cool, but ill-advised.

like i said, they can't be seen with the head lights on. they are barely visible in the day time. and they are ONLY on when the parking lights are on...so unless i drive around with JUST my parking lights on everywhere, i think i'll be ok. but thanks for your concern.

Since you did the mod it's safe to say you'll show them off as much as possible. My concern isn't for you, it's for other people that might get hurt. But as long as you look good!

+1 on this. You aren't the other driver in the oncoming lane. Yea you aren't getting pulled over but it does NOT mean you are disabling other drivers vision too.

yup i sure do show them off! just not when i'm driving. I don't intend to get pulled over or make people drive off the roads and crash when they see my car because, once again, the red is not visible over the d2s's. at any angle.

but since you've missed the above statement several times already, it's safe to say that you'll blindly post something witty and condescending about anything you don't like shortly.

Have a nice day!

Not to carry this on but this has been in my head since this whole thing started

Daytime use: Fine, very hard to confuse the front of a car with the back during the day
Show/Parking lot use: Perfect
Nighttime use: NO!

ok snark-monsters

here is a mod of mine. kindof old news, but here goes:
- removed headlight shrouds (middle plastic pieces)
- yanked original highbeams, replaced with J30 projector beams
- re-placed the edge blades
- drilled 8 holes in the forward piece of projector beams
- LED spot placed in corner of headlights

here is my previous attempt at DIY LED headlights. 6X 24CM LED strips, 3 per side. i had to rip them out bc a few LEDs from each string were failing and it looked really ****ty

I would really like to see a write up on the red "evil" lights. I personally won't do red, but it is forsure something I'd like to do.

How hard was it to split these lights? i've got a friend with the same year model asking me to mod his lights and i've never done a set of LGT's. did you keep the same projectors for the low beam or are they upgraded as well? I really envy the dual projectors over my bi-xenon's...they are huge in my bugeye housing.

im not sure what you mean by split the lights -- do you mean open them up? if so, its really easy (once you have removed them from the car). bake for 3minutes at 250 degrees and they'll pop right open.

removing them from the car is not easy at all. you take down the grille and bumper, undo the lights fasteners (especially the invisible one behind the turn signal) then YANK them out. its not scientific and risks breaking the hoiusings, its fastener bits, or both. alternatively you can unbolt the metal piece that holds them in - this is a functional crash section of the unibody so youll need a bigggg wrench to do it.

once the lights are open, the middle chrome shroud unscrews in 2 minutes.

i kept the same projector lenses for the lowbeams, but the bulbs are upgraded to xenons, 6000k color.

the dual projectors were a huge, HUGE pain in the ass and werent really worth it, in my opinion. i had major waterproofing, aiming and placement issues with the new projectors.

hope this helps, cheers

that helped alot, thanks! I was not aware that pulling the lights of the car would be such a task. and yes, i did mean opening them up, sorry. Anyhow, they look pretty nice. What bulbs and balasts did you use for the low beam?

yeah, removing / reinstalling them is the hardest part by far.

i used some $30 Xentec 6000k H7s with slim ballasts. the legacy gt projector beams are HID-ready so it looks totally OEM. a dime-sized wire hole has to be drilled into the bulb cover things to accomodate the HID wiring.

my tip for all considering an HID conversion: buy two pairs of the cheapest sets you can. that way, you have extras if a bulb or ballast blows out or was DOA

I always do a double take when a set of nice projectors are bouncing it's cut-off in my rear view. the color shift at the center of the cut off looks like police lights flashing.

come to think of it, I wonder if my projectors do the same to some one else? HID karma. lol
