Just pull the boost gauge from the housing (I pulled it by hand on a really hot day), and remove the twist bulb. I then colored it with a red sharpie marker, and surprisingly it works very well.

well i can definitely hear the purists grumbling about this 'sharpie your gauges' idea, but you cant argue with the results........

some pics during the day would help explain what it looks like

So I'm looking for suggestions....
Looking at the engine bay and it seems bland. Wanting to do something. Do some accent colors, nothing over top just vac lines intake tube and maybe intake manifold. Never messed with painting engine area before and want to do it right. Lookin for help from guys that have done or seen done.
What I've done is interior I have all red lighting with factory Blanco and gun metal. Exterior is silver car with black accents here and there.
I was thinking blue under hood would look good but part of me thinks that 3 diff color schemes would be to much. Or the other option is leave as is. I've been tryin to find a way to make it fit with rest of the car.
Thanks for the help

^^Color wise, I think that you have a Silver/Black/red scheme already going. I'd do red under the hood because you're right, adding in blue would be a bit tacky IMO.

i used some $30 Xentec 6000k H7s with slim ballasts. the legacy gt projector beams are HID-ready so it looks totally OEM. a dime-sized wire hole has to be drilled into the bulb cover things to accomodate the HID wiring.

my tip for all considering an HID conversion: buy two pairs of the cheapest sets you can. that way, you have extras if a bulb or ballast blows out or was DOA
Wow, **** advice and incorrect info. The projectors are NOT HID ready. Projectors are either halogen, or HID. Completely different optics. This isn't a conversion, its a kit. A true conversion replaces the projectors with appropriate ones.

how different do these two look? LGT's halogen projectors vs RX330 oem hid's.

http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...8.html?t=56028

the difference in the bowl shape is the only major change--- and still the bowls are virtually identical.

you might be technically "right" but i disagree.

honestly tho, if you know so much-- then actually provide some information, some examples, instead of just lumbering in to **** on old posts.

Why provide info when it is abundant on these forums? People get tired of explaining the same things over and over when people dont give a **** to search and read. And people wonder why Unabomber and Scotty are grumpy all the time.

Drowner does have a point though....use search first and I'm sure you can find anything you want on here. From his side it does get old when ppl ask same thing over and over.

true i suppose. not to drag this out: but it's worth mentioning that the search functionality and user experience on these forum sites is generally a huge mess.

i am looking for info on building my own under body brush guard to replace the flimsy plastic one on my 2004 impreza RS. i did search and look for info for this and i didnt find anything at all for the RS.

Im thinking it wouldnt be too extremely difficult. id make a large cutout for the oil filter, and mostly id want to protect the oil pan.

just looking for some info like what metal would be best to use (strongest, most cost effective) and the thickness that would probably be best to use.

thanks a ton. idk how i will make this, just looking for some starting info

Get a big street sign.
I know a few people who have done that.

There should be a few skid plate DIY's floating around here.

Edit: here ya go
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1715943

The first decent one on there is made of street signs

Are these Ridgid Industries lights? How do you like them? I've been thinking of getting some of the 2x2 driving lights for in my grill.

They're pretty good, as you can see in the pics, lol. Those are the 2x2 ones too, they're the Duallies, think the D2s are the ones of that size that have a driving beam. Mine are the spots, I'll probably end up getting a pair of the floods to add to my setup someday.

Haha you're going to wake up one morning to find that your car is missing a rather large portion of the bumper
