Been meaning to do this for a while just to see how it looks. I don't think its so bad. Cheaper then an aftermarket steering wheel and I get to keep my airbag!
Also never mind all the dust. I just got it back from a body shop and its rather dusty now ![]() ![]() |

Unique? Well, there's nothing unique about a triple gauge pod as many other cars have similar options, but it is still the only one built. It's a prototype, and the pic is crappy, but it's watermarked so that you know you saw it here first, and you know where it came from...
Custom? Well yeah. I did the whole process myself to make this a single bodied part instead of using fiberglass and bondo. It's made of 1/8" thick ABS with the textured finish on top. Obviously, the textured finish isn't the same as the factory one, but I like it better with some texture. ![]() As it's seen in that pic, there is nothing holding the part to the dash. The part is sitting there without the need of double tape or being screwed to the dash. Having only the ATI pods to choose, and not very keen the SMY cluster one, this is what I came up with. Had that design floating in my mind for quite some time. Did some research about how to go about it, and it came out exactly as I had pictured it in my mind. How does it look? |

Looks great, just like the new monkeybone racing triple gauge cluster. Hard to tell with the watermarks though.
EDIT: Just noticed what the watermarks says: is that a name or a more hip way of spelling cyanide? |

Nice watermark! Now where's the gauge pod you wrote about?

The difference is that mine sits at an angle pointing to the driver, the finish is textured and it only fits 52mm (2-1/16") gauges. The gauges fit nicely without bumping the back, even with the long versions of the Prosport ones. That one kinda looks like the ATI, but with the gauge silhouette on top. I don't like how high the gauges sit though. Some better pics will be posted soon. I'll place the watermark elsewhere so that the part can be appreciated in full. |

Here you go...
![]() ![]() It still needs to be fine trimmed, but that's basically the finished design. |

Didn't your HU's mount come with a pocket for that DIN? Unless you hate how it looks.
