I think I'm going to try to fit an abs box around it then run some silicon or something around the bottom where the wires will come up through before going to the box.

if you can use longer wires... wouldnt it be awesome to have it in the trunk? it's reliably watertight and easy if you're accessing it frequently i mean.

Eventually it will be in the glove box. This is just a temporary thing. This is my project so I want nothing or as little as possible to be in the fender area.

Hope this isn't a dumb question but what does "tutt" mean? Lol. And I was gonna just ditch the reservoir or put it in the hatch but I like it there

Oh ok I thought maybe thats what it meant. That's why I thought about putting it in the trunk with a tap so people thought it was real haha. I'll post up a DIY once I get it complete. Other then making some mounting brackets all I'm going to do is drill a hole in the back side and stick the pump out of the stock reservoir in it. And if that fails I'm going to weld a nipple of some sort to the bottom and run a piece of hose to the stock pump.

custom mod this week (sans photos):

WHO
- normal guy. not a scofflaw. resisting privatised APR [automated plate reader] techmology
- my legal and lawful attempts to thwart RLCs [red light cameras]

WHAT
- creating DIY passive anti-photo-enforcement measures
- flummox speed and red light cameras with subtly blurred numbers and tags

WHEN
- this wk I received a bunch of different license plate frames, each purporting to elude photo-radar and RLCs.

WHERE: rapid city, SD

WHY
- since I got new City plates, I'm paying through the nose in photo enforced tickets (speed cameras and RLC)
- the light timing and image capture strategies favor the private company contracted to collect this revenue

HOW
- removed plates from car, brought inside to do photo comparisons
- put each cover to the test by loading plate, taking flash photos in various lights

Results:
- it turns out plate covers of any kind are illegal in my area - and any kind (even clear) is grounds to be pulled over
- the three clear plate covers i ordered were all super tacky, bulky, obvious and useless
- attempts to use a laptop privacy screen failed due to extra tinting, the privacy screen is obvious on plate

Experimental method:
- use plate's reflectivity against it
- overspray plate with Reflective effect paint

results:
tbd

passing traffic could tell i drank Mt. Dew.

There is no "legal" way to thwart a traffic control device. The fact that its being triggered proves a violation is being committed. Any justification to the contrary is a delusion.

That being said good luck. Wouldn't mind doing it if it works.

Private company contracted to collect revenue for traffic tickets? Sounds like a lucrative business and mostly unconstitutional

This is my unique Mod for a convertible Nexus 7 head-unit setup as I wanted to keep my Pioneer unit in place for when I do not want to have the tablet in. I do not use the tablet every day just for longer drives.

My requirement:
My needs for the setup, tablet buttons and charging ports accessible wile installed (both tablets Nexus 7 and Blackberry Playbook (work)), more a removable/convertible install really.

Here is my audio setup Link (originally)

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2300312

And here/below is the setup I made 2 weeks ago in 1 night for my Nexus7 over the top of my headunit. *I still have some minor cleanup to do on the bracket edges (blacking the edges).

Basically I made a two 3 sided brackets , bottom (resting for tablet), side, front and a top "L" bracket to keep it from falling backwards when accelerating. Then screwed them into the face-plate with very little screws from the back.

The brackets basically create a 1 centimeter cube for the tablet to sit on/in, I used 3mm thick carbon-fiber sheet as material. I also mounted it so that there is a 8mm gap from the bottom so the factory radio buttons are still accessible even with the tablet in in use.

Why make it this way you ask, I wanted to keep the Pioneer unit and backup camera for when I do not want to use the tablet (removable/convertible).

I case anyone wonders I use MiFi for my Nexus and or navigation when the tablet is in use. I connect the tablet to the headunit via bluetooth. I even use the steering wheel controls for voice commands and skipping on the tablet and yes my phone is also paired at the same time and I can use the wheel answer and hangup wile the tablet is in. In short when setting up the Bluetooth you have to specify what funtions the tablet has and what functions the phone has (phone = phone only, no streaming audio).

I am using "Car Home" as the Home screen wile in the car (as you see in the pictures)

Here are pictures:

Headunit only:

Brackets

with Tablet:
