Time to find a crashed STI so I can buy the cover for cheap lol. Shouldn't be too hard in the winter.

I also thought of something else, you know those leather iPod cases they make with the cover/flap that covers the screen when it's not being used? You could just wrap the flap in alcantara and put the case on the iPod. That would probably be the easiest method. Though I dunno if that flap would get in the way when you are using the iPod.

EDIT- like this

Just put the flap backwards so that it flips towards the back of the car, this way it won't interfere with use, and it should be easy to close.

Does anyone have experience with those screen covers that turns into a mirror like surface when the screen is off? If so, does it increase the glare a lot?
I would cover up the place that you have it stored in now, and put it in one of the cup holder spots under the sliding piece. that would make it completely out of sight.

What did you do to the cup holder to make it sit in there

  1. Remove the it from the console
  2. Break down the cup holder assembly
  3. Get a can of WD-40 and start cleaning that thing top to bottom
  4. Pretty much soak all the parts on WD-40
  5. I put a little piece of plastic on the short end of the spring to give it alittle more preload on the spring
  6. Reassemble the cup holder assembly and cycle the opening/closing the cup holder.
  7. Add WD-40 on the rear if it gets stuck
  8. Pray (or write a research paper)
  9. Reinstall
  10. Profit?

Thanks dude . Doesn't require a lot of heat so I didn't have to split the calipers open.

What kind of heat tolerances are for that sort of coating?
Wow, that sentence reads very nicely. Haha
How about, how does that sort of coating hold up to high heat?

I didn't know that hydro dip could take that kind of heat, I learn something new every day.

It's used on rifle barrels . So am sure it can handle some heat . I guess I will find out once I starting driving the car

Looked into this a while ago, how much roughly did it cost you to get a dipping setup going

Thanks bud! I think the STI airbag is pretty sexy compared to the standard WRX airbag. Not Ferrari sexy mind you, but pocket-knife level of sexy.
