Joking right? That's a stock RS hood, and fog are readily available through Japan parts...a buddy of mine got his in the mail last week.

Headlamps appear oem too?

Finished up my scoop delete/vent and did a test fit. Cutting the hood was pretty easy but scary

Stock Scoop:

Scoop insert removed:

How much I cut from the hood. These were rough cuts, I need to even it out a touch along the front edge still.

Test fit of the new scoop insert:

I completely love that vent! Kudos to you.
I think if I ever went front mount, I'd try to put something like that. But instead on the back/top of the scoop, and then block off access to engineering bay under the hood. So air would flow thru, then up and over.

My WB02 is set up for logging. When I will be needing to be look at it I will be strapped to a dyno. And it's not pointless, it is a clean install. I dislike having A-pillar pods, and I already have a SMY cluster that has 2-gauges.

Whats the point of the scoop if you're running an FMIC anyway?

No I'm not joking. Japanparts, as in shipped from Japan... and therefore not readily available in the conventional sense.

You're right on the hood, it is just like an RS model. Headlamps (oem cleared of reflectors), grill, and fogs are foreign market only.

As much as I like the idea of this I believe it will not work... You have put a vent directly infront of the hood scoop... If you didn't block the scoop off the it will just vent and go right back into the the engine compartment.

The idea was good and the work looks great and nobody would ever notice it wasn't a factory piece. I like it just don't think the functionality is there while driving. Idling yes it will work great!

readily available means anyone can order them at any time. which you can do with the fogs. go to the japanparts website, enter your credit card, and wait for them to show up at your door.

not readily available means the item isn't in production anymore, or would require someone to go to great lengths to acquire said parts....not just order from a website.

I guess you were too busy quoting all 6 of his pictures for no particular reason and didn't actually read his post that explained what he was doing:

the one downside i see to that design.....

is you now created a parallel 90* surface with the direction the car is moving, thus generating drag. At least with an open scoop, there is somewhere for the air to go. I would've just bought a 2.5i hood if you didnt want the scoop.

awesome craftsmanship though.

use the eyes God gave you and examine the pictures and you will realize that it is a mesh.

Air does indeed go through mesh. who knew. unless he got it enchanted in mordor, then obviously it will shoot fireballs at the air.

While I read it I guess I skipped over that part... So if you would read mine, I wasn't being a douche just constructive critisim. But since we are on this, he is now trapping air at the delete because there is still a lip at the factory scoop inlet. So this could lead to the hot air benig pulled back in by a swirl effect by nobody knows until tested... I've done quite a bit of research and built my own deletes, this is new and creative which I like but why not make it more functional? He may have over looked this little feature which is why I pointed it out. Enjoy your day kids cause obviously the post above mine is just pointing out little things to help

Since there is no direct frontal shot, there is no way to really tell. Judging by the post directly above mine, it appears I'm not the only one.

If there IS mesh on this part (excuse my ****ty description) ___| <-- this part, then I guess it really isn't a scoop delete, is it?

that is actually the mesh section just in FRONT of the scoop, which wasn't what I was talking about (circled below). It looks like it also might be mesh, but theres no good angle to make an accurate judgement.
