Default Rear facing carseat in an '02 WRX wagon?

Hi all. My husband and I just moved to Germany (military move), and prior to moving I sold my '01 RS because I couldn't get a rear-facing car seat in the back + get my husband and I up front ... broke my heart, but it was right decision for our family.

I have come across a great deal on an '02 WRX wagon, but our household goods haven't arrived yet, so I can't test fit the car seat (baby is due in June) ...

I want to make sure I'm not just trading one car with an impossibly small backseat for another. Having ridden in the back of my friends' WRX's, I know that they're a little more spacious, but I don't know how much, and I'm wondering if any of you have any input about getting a car seat back there?

I have an 02 sedan. I can carry my wife or my daughter but not both. The front passenger seat has to be so forward and straight up that my wife doesn't fit with the car seat in place.

We use Graco seats that clip into a base that's attached to the latch behind the bench seat. Maybe a seat without the base would work, but I haven't tried it for sure.

Family trips are done in my wife's 2012 Kia Optima
