I did the spacer mod on my exhaust friday night and I may have put too much space because it's very loud but being 17 years old, I don't mind it. It sounds very good in town and on curvy roads but I haven't had a chance to get on the highway. I am expecting it to be very drone-y. Tomorrow I have school and work which is about 150 miles all together on the highway so I will update when I get home.

Caltech, what did you use to cut the bumper and make it look so clean. Do you have a pic after you use the door edge?

Ill take a picture with the door edge guard on there tomorrow.

I didnt cut the bumper myself because Im nowhere near that crafty. No doubt a rotary tool would cut right through it though.

Wuzin and CalTech, yeah, I may be interested in picking one up. I have my SLP setup now, but things have changed and I may go back to the stock setup. Or at least hang onto it for later. PM me with some type of estimated shipped price to 15205 if you'd like.

Since Wuzin said he's willing to let his go and I'm not sure yet... Also he's about 2k miles closer to you and his axleback has 8k less miles on it. If that somehow fails let me know.

I received the ones on the right today. Installed and working like a champ. The rear side marker lights are much shallower than the front lights. The jdmtoy reverse lights would fit in the front but not the rear. Currently using amazon cheap 168s and they look nice. Brake lights are all that is left.

When replacing the DRL bulbs with LEDs is it safe to paint of the entire reflective area? I mean, do the LEDs even need reflection?

Ok let's clarify...there are no dedicated "DRL" bulbs in our cars. The DRL's are the high beams which go through a resistor pack first to step down voltage, basically dimmed high beams.

One of the iJDMTOY plasmas in my eyebrow light already burned out.. Not sure if I should exchange for a news pair or just return them, either way the they're going back. For now I'm back to the Sylvania LEDrivings which aren't as bright but have been flawless.

Any recommendations for rear step bumper protectors for the hatch (other than the clear OEM one)? I had this one from C&C car worx previously, and I was just wondering what else was out there.

I think subaru has one that stores inside and you flip it out when needed.

Doesn't fit properly. There is a gap between the bumper and protector. I just bought a black vinyl sticker and cut it to shape. Cheap and easy. Not durable but has helped in a few situations

Yeah I liked it. It was durable and looked good. It was recommended by another member here. I was just wondering if there are other designs/patterns other people are using.

Since I never use my high beams, I simply refer to them as the DRLs. I understand this can be seen as a mistake.

Still looking for an answer though!

Ok well....is it safe?? Yeah, don't see why it wouldn't be. Those LED's will run MUCH cooler than halogens, if anything use a high temp paint. Would it be functionally better or serve a purpose?? Absolutely not! And yes in my opinion (take it for what it's worth) LEDs need reflection just like halogens, if not even more so. LED bulbs seem to focus their light output more than "throw" it so to speak like incandescent or halogen.

Here is a link to brighter LED DRL's that I should have gotten:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/headlights/led.html

And yes sir I got my parking light's from jdmtoy. They were the plasma's. I use plasma LED's everywhere.
Picked up a set of the VLEDs mentioned above. Tested great last night in the garage. Worked just fine this morning on my way to work. Pulled into the garage this afternoon and didnt notice the wall lit up and sure enough they werent running.

Swapped back to the OEM bulbs, nothing. Checked for 12V on the connector, nothing. Checked the fuses, good. Dont have time right now to get further into it, but am open to suggestions of where to look.

Fuse box maybe. That is odd. Are you sure you bought the CK Style bulbs? You had to check the box that said CK when you ordered.

No clue what the problem would be there. That is strange.

Looked at the service manual and checked the fuse it suggested, good. Dont really feel like squatting by my driverside door right now to continue with its recommended troubleshooting messing with BIU connectors.

Worst case scenario, put the OEM bulbs back in and take it in for warranty? I would hope they dont throw a fit about my independent foglight mod...
