Yea that sucks I had faith in those things! My jdmtoy DRL's are still running after having them for like 10 months now. They have a slight flash tho. You can tell when you see the reflection on someones bumper. They flash so fast most people wouldn't notice.

It might be time to swap to LEDs and a projector setup

That's exactly what I'm doing. Except the LEDs killed my DRL electronics. Will post my findings tomorrow. Hopefully it's something I can fix.

Checked the service manual for the actual DRL fuse since it wasnt labeled very well on the quick reference fuse box cover. Pulled the fuse out, good. Moved my car to clean out the garage and noticed the DRLs were on... well then. Will have to keep an eye on this.

Also noticed this weird pipe curving toward my wheel well when I popped my hood messing with those fuses:

Installed the CAI this past week, literally took 30 minutes. Performance gain? No. Loud? Not unless I want it to be or drop down a gear to race the Prius next to me. Cleared up a quarter of the engine bay since the OEM box is gone? Absolutely. This benefit, to me, is immeasurable and when I do start trying to learn more about the engine/transmission it will again prove its convenience.

For those looking for the intake sound, the STI and WRX stock air box comes with a silencer:

The front section of the air box will directly replace the front section of the NA Impreza air box. Just remove that milk jug looking piece and you get the sound. Of course, you could always just cut out the circle section that's at the bottom of the Impreza's air box. I have an intake on my STi so I used the front of the old air box on my wife's Impreza and now she gets a decent intake noise with her AEM drop-in filter.

And, Browsing, just by cutting out that circle on the bottom of the intake box will yield similar results? Any different flow characteristics?

I wouldn't expect so. It's mostly a noise thing. A lot of the wrx and Sti guys regard the stock air box as good up to 400hp without issue.

To be honest I didnt really experiment with it or look for any difference. I was happy enough with the cleared space. Ill post an update after driving with it a bit more and playing around.

Yeah, supposedly the stock Subaru intakes are pretty good. I've been used to other manufacturers with crappy stock intakes that a CAI/SRI really helps out with driving feel, not just sound.

I put an AEM CAI on my sti just for the noise. I have no unreasonable expectation of extra power that could be added from it. I did the airbox on my wife's impreza and she gets the same noise for free. On other cars, an intake can be very beneficial like on v8's or diesel trucks but from bench flow diagrams, the stock intake with a drop-in filter is just fine.

I didnt cut the bumper myself because Im nowhere near that crafty. No doubt a rotary tool would cut right through it though.

Any pictures you can share.

Talking to the guys at the dealership. The 2015 wrx/sti and the impreza sport are now on "basically" the same platform. Sedan versus hatch still but a lot of the aftermarket parts for the front half of the vehicle are now going to be interchangeable.

Sorry about that. Was just putting some LEDriving 168s in my license plate lighting today and took a couple pictures. Not exactly sure what youre looking for, but this is it with the door edge guard:

On another note, my LED DRLs are COMPLETELY intermittent. Cannot tell when they will and will not work. May have to try returning them for the JDM Toys unless I can diagnose the problem, which is difficult when they seemingly work as they please...

Been in talks with Mike to do a custom exhaust for my Crosstrek. I like how yours looks but the bumper on the crosstrek it is different. Just thinking my options before I commit. Thank you for posting.

The door edge guard looks very good. In the first pic, I couldn't even tell it was there. It just looked finished like it was suppose to be there.
