PKL on the prior page has a photograph of a retrofitted projector housing.

Why are you being a douche? I asked a simple, and reasonable question and acciidentally substituted "projector" for "reflector". You don't know **** about me, or my mechanical skills.

BTW- three people (ans2k, mjsub2.0, wes_888) posted having added the DDM HID kit to their 2012 impreza, only 2 pages back and reporting positive results.

Post 827 on page 34 of this thread appears to show HIDs successfully installed in reflectors. Surprisingly, doesn't seem to show too much glare, but it's hard to know how it looks to oncoming cars. The cut-off sure looks sharp enough, though!

Totally agree! I went with 35w with 5k looks good and works well. Not blinding at all. And yes it's stock housing.

Yeah those are mine, and I can honestly say that there is minimal glare with the retrofit. Just don't get the high color temp bulbs as they will glare even if the cutoff line is sharp.

Thank you all for the back up. I'm going for the ddm 35watt 5ks.

Has anyone heard good/bad reviews of the whiteline 20mm rear sway on our cars? I know it comes with bushings, but I'm curious if the bushing mount strap will fit over them.

Personally I think putting HIDs into halogen reflectors is a bad idea, just because it glares and blinds oncoming traffic and the cutoff is terrible. All I can say is if you do decide to get retrofit HID projectors you will not regret it, it has been a while since I had mine done and I still stop to admire them from time to time.

A simple thing to do is upgrade to H9 bulbs. All you need to do is file down a piece of plastic on the inside of the light and it will work. I bought a pair, but haven't put them in yet.

Yes, there have been plenty of people who have retrofit HID's into oem reflector housings, and there have also been people who have retrofit projectors into oem housings. To me it seemed as though Algreen was VERY confused on the subject so that's why I said what I said, to just drop it and move on to something else. I also said, I wasn't trying to be mean when I said it, just that he seemed confused, and he felt it was necessary to call me a "douche" after that.

Algreen needs to learn how to take constructive criticism a little better!

It's a slightly different halogen bulb that can fit into an H11 housing after trimming a small plastic tab from the base. I did this swap on my 2011 and they were a nice improvement over stock, but they blew out (simultaneously) only a few months after I installed them.

Well I tried to do some research and it seems the h11 generally have a longer life then h9. Up to 2x as long. But the h9 are brighter, and maybe whiter. So ill prob just stick to h11. I reaallly want hid projectors... just so much moolah for em. Guess ill stick with my led drls and h11s.

2 h9 bulbs are like 20.00 and will last around 500 hours, think about how much you drive at night on average it is probably 2+ years of usable life for 20.00.

The headache of having to replace the bulbs every few months just for a little extra light output doesn't really seem worth the upgrade to me.

I ran the old Toshiba hir bulbs in my old car and they lasted 5.5 years. And i did a lot of night driving. Probably just a bad set of bulbs

I hope that's the case. I was going to buy a pair of h9's because I will be doing a lot more "night" driving with the season change and wouldn't mind better light output on those poorly lit back roads.

Not really aftermarket, but the WeatherTech mats are now in stock. I just put mine in... extremely well fitting and much better than the optional subaru rubber upgraded mats. I only got the front ones, but the rear kit also looks pretty good, especially with winter around the corner!

The weather tech mats look really nice but 3x the price of regular Subaru rubber mats.

Yes, but they protect much more, if you get snow they are a good investment. If i only had to deal with rain i wouldn't be considering them

I had them in my Prius and didn't like them... switched to the OEM rubber mats. The weathertech ones have more coverage, but the ridges aren't very high... the back of my pants would end up getting wet as snow melted. The OEM ones have deep enough ridges to stop that. I think I'll stick with the subaru mats

Might depend on your pants, mine get wet too but it didn't matter which your of mat. I have never tried the weather tech ones
