So it whistles? Probably have an exhaust leak somewhere if that's the case.

Well, no. No whistle really. All rumble. I'll try to get a video of it later today and post when I get a chance.

Lol well I've never heard a car that rumbled simply by adding a turbo. Exhausts do not create any rumble, the engine does. It's the exhaust that can change the tone or pitch of the sound or quiet it up altogether like oem but it will not make it sound like anything other than what it already is.

I used to hate on the jeep forums when people would say..."I put such and such exhaust on and now it sounds exactly like a v8." No it does not!!!

HaHa...never thought of that, but then again my buddy here had a Nissan Juke with an aftermarket exhaust that sounded pretty good and that had CVT.

I believe the "i" badge was on the WRX on the body style previous to '02. Which never came to the US. I also believe it was pink.

Pink is the color of manliness in Japan. Actually I believe Subaru calls it Cherry Blossom Red to be exact.

It would sound good if rpm deviation was more obvious. different cvt, different programming?

I really never paid attentioned to the exhaust on his CVT Juke but I could hear it and come to think of it I didn't pay attention to the constant rumble which varied when his rpms would rise/fall but the obvious break in the tone is missing from a real automatic or manual gear change.

Is anyone actually producing that little muffler delete? It's that short pipe welded to a flange. Are our exhausts 2" im assuming? I'm sure I could just have one made at a shop but I'm interested in seeing if anyone actually put one out. I thought I saw a few guys using that on BRZ's also so there is definitely a market for it.

Having a shop make one is faster, cheaper and customizable. Mine was $50. After he finished up I took it off and painted it in a high temp flat black.

So how did you go about requesting this? Did you just straight up ask for a muffler delete to be fabricated?

Ya I just went in with my muffler off already and said hey how much for a turn down. Then he lifted it up and we figured out a good angle and that's all she wrote.

Ok cool, that sounds easy enough and the fact that you didn't have to specify anything.

You're in Vancouver, Washington right? Maybe I will swing by the shop you went to for your muffler delete next time I'm driving down to Portland.
