Hell, I'm tempted to do a turn down also but not at the expense of hearing the drone. Maybe a Magnaflow would give it a little rumble and I really don't care about a nice exhaust tip since I have the 5-door.

Ya I I'm in Vancouver. I got it done at hazel dell muffler on hwy 99. As for the drone there's not much. The direction of the sound is pointed enough out of the way that it isn't a big deal, even my wife doesn't mind. My last Subie had a flowmaster (no resonator) was much louder. I think I made a wise choice so far.

Hi all, i bought a front strut bar for my 2013 Impreza Sport Limited, but the item was from ebay and listed fit the 2012 WRX, i assume it fits in the impreza, but it didnt fit? Does anyone if they are the same strut for both model? Also i have a question regarding the rear strut, does that do much to the car compare to the front strut?

No, it will not fit. You have to get the one specific to the 12/13 Impreza/Crosstrek. I have the Cusco one right here after a 7 week wait....

Should take all but 10 minutes to install. FTW!

Anyone know how to open the light housing for the license plate lights? I'll tried both prying and pushing on the release clip, they seem to be in there pretty good.

Same goes for the hatch light as well as the map dome and interior light, there seems to be no prying point.

not sure if answered yet, but you are suppose to, from the right side of the housing, push to the left then lift and it should come out. also in the manual on how to change the light bulb for the plates.

I actually removed the panel from the inside to access the both assemblies because I didn't want to ruin the single-sided foam insulation tape with a pry tool from the outside. I would have been pissed if water had gotten into the bulbs thru a ruined seal. Took an extra 5 minutes to remove the panel but I know I didn't compromise the seal in anyway.

Yup I had that figured out after I took a look at the manual, thanks though.

His are 17" rims too. Standard rim for the Sport Premium (and maybe Sport Limited too).

True. I meant the 15-spoke 17" on the sedans and non sport models.

Agreed. I like the aggressive look of the Sport's 17" gunmetal wheels, too.

Tell me about it. The 15 spoke gets dirty within a week, and takes forever to clean them. I plastidipped them so i wouldnt see it anymore.

I really like the look of the gunmetal rims, I wish they would offer them here in Canada. It sucks how you're all the way in California otherwise I would drive down and get those rims from you.

Just a quick note.

On my '12 Impreza Hatch I currently have a SPT Front Strut Brace for a '12 WRX installed. It fits perfectly although it is barley touching the back of the engine bay.

Second I have been building custom intake for my car using an '99 intake, '04 WRX MAF housing *"Had to fabricate a different hole out of plexiglas for the sensor because the hole on the original housing is 1.4" and our MAF sensors need a 1" hole", and some various silicone tubing/bends. So far on my intake I have been getting a check engine light that causes my cruise control and traction control to flash. I'm thinking I may have to go into the dealership and get my ECU re-flashed.

or just remove the intake because they are proven to be of little to no help on a N/A boxer?

The sound the intake gives is just a personal preference for me. Also, as soon as I start boring out my cylinders and building up the N/A engine, I'm going to need that increased air flow right? From what I have read/heard it's possible to get more power out of an N/A engine than a Factory Turbo it's just fairly costly

why would the dealership reflash your ECU for a modification you made that is now making it CEL?

Because their nice people.

I have heard that getting a CEL with a new intake is quite common and all it needs is a reflash to work properly. I'm going to the dealership to ask them to do it before I do it myself and defiantly void my warranty.

Do you have pics of your progress? I put an intake tube together but left the factory airbox in place. No change in sound and gas mileage increased about 1-1.5 mpg.
