One more question...

When you did the LED swap for the turn signals and brake lights, you know how sometimes the LED's don't reflect properly off the mirror and it changes the appearance of the reflector housing or decreases the brightness or reduces the amount of mirror that is lit up. Did you experience any of this?

I did experience that with the turn signals actually. The first 4 that I bought were not bright enough...well actually they probably were but because the bulb sits in the housing at an angle the brightness appeared diminished. I ended up getting an led bulb with more led's. I am satisfied for now however I'm sure I will end up swapping them out for something else or taking the lights apart and building boards with SMD leds instead so I don't have to worry about the light reflecting off the inner mirror housing.

I definitely want to do the plasti dip on my grill like that, looks good! Did you do anything to prep the grill before spraying it?

There isn't anything special that needs to be done to prep the grill. Plastidip goes on very easily. I used a citrus base degreaser to clean it up. You'll want to make sure it is completely dry. Mask off any areas that you don't want covered and then start spraying. You'll want to do 4-5 thin coats. If you spray to closely or apply too heavy of a coat, you'll get drips.

Would you recommend the spray or the bucket? It would seem easier to just dip it (no need to mask) but I guess it depends on the application though.

Why is this one so much cheaper? Is it even the same thing and will it even fit?

I was content with the price for them on this site:
http://www.customledservice.com/subaru_prod.html

Actually its like a $8 difference, I will definitely buy it from the 2nd site.

Spray for sure. I have dipped a few tools and really don't like the way it comes out. As BryanP said, it's messy and comes out uneven. Like I said, the spray is easy and very forgiving unlike rattle can spray paint. When I did mine, I removed the grill from the bumper, which required removal of the bumper. I planned it this way because I installed the Hella Supertones at the same time. Just make sure you take your time.

It's hard to say especially without being able to see the back of the housing.

Yeah I will go with the 2nd site, the total is only $8 more and its exactly the same as the one you had ordered, not really worth the risk and wasted time otherwise.

ooooo. Interesting. Glad I asked! I wish I had the skills to build LED's into the housing, that would be sweet.

But the brake lights worked out well? And you said you used the 7443 with the re-wiring cause you couldn't find the 7443-CK??

We'll see. I would need to get an additional set of tail light housings to do a mod like that. Tail lights can't be baked like head lights and pulled apart. They have to be cut open. The idea would be to build a board that has the leds mounted on it and uses the standard bulb base so they are just plug and play essentially.

Brake lights worked out fine. In fact I want to say that they are as bright as the stock filament bulbs. For the 7443 bulbs, the first pair I bought kept burning fuses because they were not the -CK type. Unfortunately, the base was glued to the housing so I tried the different wire configuration with little success. I ended up buying a second set which worked out even better. The base wasn't glued to the housing so what I ended up doing was straightening out the leads, pulling the base off and then re-position the leads to the proper location. This worked great and I think it's a better idea then the re-wire option.

I just finished installing the fog lights, they look good and are very easy to install. Took me about 45 min.

What fogs did you use. The OEM ones intended for the Impreza or something else? Can you post pics?

Sweet deal! Thanks for taking a minute to spell out the details. Super helpful!

I haven't purchased the second set. If I were to do such a modification, I would need to get a second set.

Hey I placed an order for rear bumper LEDs, I'm about to checkout in Paypal, it shows shipping and handling is $7. I'm assuming they will ship to Canada and for that price as well? The contact us link on the site does nothing.

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on the rear hatch area LEDs, they do seem cool but I don't see why you would want that kind of lighting in the hatch though.

Here are the net prices for everyone. I got these parts today for what the dealer paid for them. i had the dealer order these parts for me. last week they quoted me Front spoiler installed $325.45, Rear Aero splash guard $225.68 and front mesh grille $292.72 which totaled out to $843.85. for everything. He also had told me they were giving me 15% off the list price and the number i just listed reflect 15% off plus install prices.i was going to see if i could talk them down a bit but thats before i caught a glimpse of the order sheet they handed me by mistake with all the net prices for the parts on it. here is my bill after i said i wanted them all for net price and said ill do the install myself

I hope this saves you all some money

Did the plastidip on my grill last night. You don't need to take off the bumper to get the grill off, just need a stubbie little screw driver

Nice looking^^
I'm gonna copy yall and do the same on my grille.

On another note- I love the ride of my car but I think at 50-60k I'm going to see about upgrading the suspension. I just want it a tad bit firmer and less body roll. I'm definitely going to look into aftermarket sway bars.

Looks good! I'm thinking of doing this too, but just painting the "wings" black and the outer edge of the grille body color. Nice to know that removal of the bumper isn't necessary to take off the grille!

There is a pic of someone who just painted the wings on the 2012 impreza picture thread in the Members Car gallery. His car is white so the silver trim doesn't stand out as much.
