Question Full 3" TBE vs. Cat back with downpipe.

I want to get upgrade my stock exhaust and was wondering what everybody would recomend getting. I was thinking on buying a catless DP that can bolt on into a cat back exhaust. The only problem with this setup is that the piping will not be 3" all the way. Should I just get a full 3" TBE or is that an overkill for a stock wrx. I plan on putting more performance goodies into my car so I wanted to know what the best route I should take. Thanks for the advice.

dallas_wrx_blue - you've basically just answered your own Q If you do plan on doing more mods later, might as well get the turbo-back now so you won't have to touch it later. It's simple and painless this way. Plus, turbo'd cars work better w/ less back pressure, by going w/ a 3" turbo-back right off the bat, you've already optimized everything behind the turbo.

Why not? If you buy a 3" DP(that eliminates 2nd and 3rd cat i.e. PDE) and get a 3" catback you'll esentially have a full 3" turbo back exhaust!

I just don't want to go through all the trouble of researching what DP fits what exhaust. Besides some DP taper off to 2.5" like the turboXS DP. If i'm wrong correct me, but that was my impression.
GTBGUY- Thanks for the advice. I've decided to go with full 3" exhaust.
