OP since you are planning on rallying it you should do an F150 front end and do a prerunner!!!! It would be sooooo easy 4 welds and 3 bolts max, I'm sure it fits in your $10k budget with enough money left over for mad decals!!!!! Could you photoshop that for me please!!!! kthx

Actually - the OP has a pretty good idea. Take the rear wheel drive train of a Toyota and marry it with the Boxer engine of a Subaru.

Wait a minute!!!!!

I have to say, I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Everything about this thread is win.

Only thing missing is a ute back end on an STI front. That will be key to sell in the Aussie market. Background should show this beast on top of Ayers Rock

I used to drive an FC. Do you really want to go there? Fine. Here we go:

Wrong. Rotary engines are 4-stroke engines. And not all piston engines are four stroke.

The link you sent me proves you wrong. You are partially correct in that similar to many 2-stroke engines (ironically, ones that don't need premixing), rotaries utilize oil injection as part of their lubrication system. The statement "You have to premix oil with the gas" is WRONG.

Pre-mix means that you have to manually mix the oil in with the gas before you put it in the tank, or keep track of how much gas you put in and manually add oil accordingly. Rotary engines use oil injection so YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PREMIX. It post-mixes it through injection.

Some people don't trust the built in lubrication system and choose to pre-mix it instead, but this is not required (as you implied by your statement) and is therefore besides the point.

But thanks for fixing my ignorance
____________
end transmission
My PM box isn't full? I had to empty some out to PM you, and I did. I was patiently waiting your response. We can talk here though
Edit: it as full, I had a late night PM asking me what QFT stood for and I responded. I tried to make room for your response.

I'm only remotely wrong because you are splitting hairs. Rotaries are not four stroke engines, they aren't two stroke engines either, those refer to piston engines. I said rotaries are analogous to a 2 stroke piston engine, which they are. Pistons go up and down twice to achieve the intake, compression, combustion and exhaust, so 4 strokes. Rotors only spin around once per cycle, making them LIKE a 2 stroke. Obviously I know some piston engines are 2 stroke, I mentioned dirtbikes. No regular CAR has a 2 stroke piston engine, all are 4 stoke. That is what I meant. Seemed obvious to me.

The oiling system (oil metering pump) accomplishes the same thing as premixing. I understand that if you keep the OMP, there isn't a need for premix. If you delete it, there is. I mentioned it since there is no such system or prodecure similar on 4 stroke piston engines.

Its a Subaru forum, there was no need to get any more technical than I did. I was just intentionally feeding the trolls.

Don't come in here all mad because I knew about your thread in OT making fun of us, and played along. I even posted a reply to you there about the oil metering pump, last night.

My apologies, impressed was a poor choice of words. I should have said "They were surprised I was intelligent enough to find it"

You guys gave way too many clues for my detective work to be impressive. Especially, as you mentioned, since I didn't have to leave Nasioc.

What about the Saab 92, 93, and early 93's and Sonetts? They had 2-stroke motors... are those not regular cars? There's also a few eastern european cars like the Trablant that had 2-strokes too...

FCs never had 230hp stock. 6 port NA motors were 145-160hp depending on the series and the 4 port turbo motors came in at 180-202hp depending on the series. There was a limited edition called the Infini for the Japanese market that made a little more power... but you couldn't get that one here.

Okay, so there are a few random exceptions that are 2 strokes. They are RANDOM exceptions.

I said approx. on the FC hp, I definately gave it too much credit. Thanks for the correction. I have only owned FDs
