Default Ap v1 pc conectivity

Get an error message reads "couldn't identify accessport" im using a used ap v1 ive tried on both windows xp and windows 7.... I connected it to my car flashes the ecu fine but the 2 maps that are currently installed kinda suck.... Any help would be appreciated thanks
