Ok cool thanks for the input! Also when you put them in the oven did it stink up the house with fumes?

Then Color, bake for 20 at 170, let cool overnight.
Warm back up the next day to 100 then clear, clear, clear, then bake for 2 hours at 170 then cool slowly overnight.

Then they sat for a couple days before I put them on...
It's the most patient thing I have ever done but they are basically flawless!

Good luck,

Haha, yes...

I wasn't that bad though, I ended up using the hood vent during the baking process and the smell ended shortly after. I also placed the calipers on a piece of glass in the oven so they weren't directly on the metal shelves. Just don't forget to take it out or the wife will preheat the oven to 400 for bake ziti and destroy the glass to your coffee table

Ooooops...

i absolutely love your build thread. i just bought a '12 DGM wrx hatch and want to be around 300whp aswell. anything you can really point me in the right direction? i only have an invidia n1 race CBE so far.

im very new to this sort of game lol. i came from a mazda 3 scene where it was all about being super stupid low and low offset wheels haha.

thanks.

Hey, welcome to the subie club!
To get around 300 tends to be pretty easy on 93 octane with our cars. With the CBE you have and addition of a downpipe, boost controller, good top mount and of course a killer tune should get you there no problem. Where you get it tuned will make or break the 300 mark as well. I see a lot of 2008+ WRX's over 300 with just an downpipe and exhaust on a dynojet, no problem but with all my mods I couldn't break 300 on a Mustang dyno...
Keep it simple for now, you don't need a fuel pump, injectors, plugs, intake, BPV. They were all added for future mods but add no help for the stock turbo output.

Cheers,

- Jason

Agreed I was at like 240whp stage-2 on Akumas Dyno, broke 320 WHP with the HTA68 on a mustang dyno. I would think 300 on a stage 2 WRX on a mustang dyno is pretty rare if not inflated numbers. Just got my motor back and in so 400 WHP is the goal, with the HTA and Meth. just gotta watch the tranny go next!

I'm not sure if it's been done, but I'd think a pump, injectors, DP, tune with e85 will put you over 300 easily...
Wish I had e85 here

E85 for sure, sorry i thought we were talking pump gas. How is the lag with that turbo is it really different than the VF52, I was going to go with another turbo during the engine build, but i just stayed with the HTA.

Haha, yeah I get a ton of simple repeat questions. A lot of new impreza owners spend some time on here as a guide to build their own car so I don't mind as much as I used to. If I kept pushing newbies away I'd end up being another cocky ass on NASIOC. I'm still learning too so I'll never be one to mock a dumb question.

Thanks for stopping by man, means a lot!
Cheers,

- Jason

All the research in the world can't beat the info you get from someone's experience and knowledge from doing the things you want to do. Sometimes the noob question is the best research you can do!

Nope, just ran it from the plug, over the steering column, then to the AP somewhere in the console. I don't use it often so I never had a need to make anything permanent or fancy, just anything to not have it tangled around my feet.

I would if another member wanted me to re finish and (or) re-build theirs.
The cost of stripper, primer, paint, clear, decals and wire brushes is about $65 per pair (not set) I only charged $35 to do the work...
To rebuild the calipers is another $100 per pair for Brembo seals.

I actually enjoy doing it for some reason...

That's awesome. They look great. I'll have to keep it in mind when I get to the brakes.

Sure, you might be the first person I've met besides the students here that know what an Alexa Studio is, haha!
Love to talk about it, it was an incredible piece of engineering...

Here is some of the footage from the students. The anamorphic lenses used were sick!
Watch in HD if possible

Awesome stuff man. I had the pleasure of working with one of those at a recent shoot. It was just a simple green screen shoot but still great to work with beautiful footage.

My wife and I are taking another trip up to your neck of the woods (Acadia and the the Portland area) at the end of August. Maybe we'll see you on the roads!
