Took the car out for some shots this morning before the dash gets taken out...
Now it's off to the garage I go!

Somehow this makes me want to drive my car without a dash...

Here it is, stripped and ready for Alcantara!

Time-lapse is almost done rendering, should be up soon.

This shot looks really cool. Is there some Photoshop magic going on? Looks like some very nice blur for that wide of an angle.

Glad you noticed, didn't think anyone would.
I picked up a 24mm T/S and I was trying it out on the car. I've rented them for architectural clients before and always loved it. It's going to take some getting used to but so far so good.

Looking forward to finishing the dash too, It came out a lot easier than expected so hopefully the wrap will go just as well.

I thought that might be a T/S judging by the front bumper. That is a fun lens.

Yupp, I put the focal point diagonal from the bottom left, through the front wheel and beyond. Shot it a f/3.5 and by the time it hit the barn in the back it faded away nicely.
Love this thing. Nice for portraits too!

Damn, nice video. That's helpful for anyone looking to pull the dash.

Well I already know how to pull the center console and the cluster assembly, so the rest looks like it only takes about 45 seconds. Seems pretty easy.

Haha, it's not bad at all. Just taking the air bag out was nerve racking but otherwise is was as easy as removing the center console.

Overland, great stuff. I look forward to seeing it finished.

I saw your thread about wrapping the ATI pod and moving the clock and am planning on doing this also (seems to be cleanest option). To install/wire up the ATI guage pod and relocate the clock, do you have to pull the whole dash out?

Hey Man,
No need to pull the dash for the relocation. You can do it all through the center of the dash when you remove the radio. The clock will come out with two tabs on the side of the clock and then you'll just have to extend the clock harness down to the bottom.

Hopefully today I will get the proper glue to finish the top of the dash and get my car back together!

Cheers,

- Jason

Excellent, that's what I expected since you and others who have relocated the clock haven't complained/commented about it being some ridiculous process. However, I would not have been surprised if there were screws holding it in and some support beam right behind it preventing easy removal.

Hey how do you like the Conti DW's? I was going to get them but Americas Tire talked me into the new Yokohama YK580. They said the only thing quieter is the Michelin Pilot super sports I believe. Can you give me your review of the Conti's?

To do everything you see there was $330 in fabric which is two yards of Black and one yard of Steel Gray Alcantara. The glue was $50 and $10 for brushes and razor blades.
