What the heck is that!?!? Never thought of that one, could solve a lot of concerns though, thanks for showing me that!

Just wondering what you think.
Short answer, yes... I think about it every day. I never thought I would be so obsessed with my car again and I regret not buying an STI.
If I buy a 4 corner set of brakes and the cost of my SSR's, that would have been the price difference between the two. Plus I still would have all the money I spent on the WRX to mod the STI.
Next time...

12-1/2 hours later I got everything and the base map up and running. I will be working to get the write-ups as fast as possible but for now you'll get the finished picture.

how was the install of the process west? Did you use the hose clamps they provided or upgraded to the t-bolt clamps that many were saying to use?

I used the stock ones that came with it for now... They seem really solid and I can't see how on earth people get these to blow off but I've heard people complain about them.
I'd like to update them, either way they will have to work for the tune on Friday but maybe once I get back I'll measure and replace them with T-Bolts.

Amazing fit though, I love it!!

I ended up using the cups that came with the ProSport Gauges. I'm still waiting for the ATI gauge pod for that area but for now I just used the cups and hoods to get me by till then.

Cheers Mate!

No particular reason, just liked the build quality and the size. It's the biggest one I found and it comes complete with a new hood shroud. I think the biggest selling point was that I can upgrade my turbo to any bolt on aftermarket like a Bloush 2.5 dominator and still use this intercooler.
All the other intercoolers like the Perrin style bolt directly onto the turbo leaving you no choice but to change your intercooler if you want to upgrade turbo..

Since I don't want to run a front mount for many reasons, It left me with the Process West.

I know it's as much as a front mount but it's really made well and I like it!!

Thanks for putting the effort in to do write ups. You should really consider something like a 17x9+42 wheel.. they are cheaper, lighter, and won't make the brakes look silly. You'll also have a lot more options at 5x100.

Awesome!!! Looks great...Cant wait for those write-ups, so I know what to expect, when I do em.
Q) So, the shop thats performing your tune emailed you a base map, so I'm assuming just taking it extemely easy, out of boost until friday? With that Cobb intake and the injecotr scaling, no WBO2 guage yet, afr's man?

Thank you ARF, I appreciate you reading through my threads!!
I've thought about going the 17" route again but I'm really doing a wheel change for looks and I feel that a 17" wheel will just bug me to death because the car came with 17's...
They're definitely is a ton more choices and I'm sure if I was going to track the car I would go for a wider lighter 17.
We'll see, I'm so bummed about the SSR's still...

I'm excited to do the write-ups, though I think I may need to reinstall the boost controllers just to take more pictures... All of the installs took so long to do that by then end I was like screw it, I'm done taking pictures!!

With the map, yes EFI logics sent me a base map to use with the change in parts. It's a rough one but it runs... I've been able to drive it fine, it will go into boost but I have the manual boost controller totally open and the rev limiter they set a 4000 rpm. I haven't had any codes yet and I feel it actually runs pretty good with considering all the changes.
Even though I don't have a wide band yet, I can't see it running into any sort of problems as long as I stay out of boost. It's the 6 hour drive with a lot of new parts installed that I'm more worried about. Good thing I have a couple days for anything to loosen up or leak before I go.

I'm being picky but I really hope they will be able to squeeze as much power our of the turbo as possible BUT still make it daily drive like a factory car.

My fear is that I'm balancing on a thin line of having a car that is very powerful for what it has and a car that totally lost it's calm smooth drive ability. I actually don't want to drive around a daily driver race car, just a fast daily driver.

I'm rambling again, sorry...

It's now not turning into a money thing, it's like I need to hack off an STI suspension so I can have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern to get the wheels I want

Are you on 91 or 93oct? Is e85 available in your area? Meth in the future?
I'm about 99.99% sure that once you get your custom tune and if you are hitting 300whp you should be fine(it will be powerful, linear, and completely predictable). Being that our vf52's aren't that high of a flow turbo your going to love it. Now, once your at the point of the DOM 2.5, I believe thats when the transition from calm and smooth will move to race car like(at peak boost). Which to me sounds wonderful, assuming engine/trans can take it. I dont know man, the more modding I think about for my car the more I'm considering trading up for an STi, before the heavy mods.

Hey Jorden, nope 91 for life... Maine is a little slow on the e85 bandwagon and they stopped bringing 93 octane to the state a couple years ago.
Also, as long as I keep it under 375 I think I will be okay, I'm actually a super conservative driver and 99% of the time I'm driving 30mph to and from work...
We'll see but I do know I'm sticking with the Rex, I should have went with a STi but I've made my choice and sticking with it!!

Ugggghhh...

Advan RS 18x8.5 245's- Wheels, Tires, Lugs, Rings, Center caps, Mount + Balance, Shipped = $4,300

Rota G-Forces 18x9 255's - Wheels, Tires, Lugs, Rings, Center caps, Mount + Balance, Shipped = $2,100

More then twice as much money to say I have Advans on a my daily driver that will never see the track? Hmmmmm
I hate to say it, I might go for Rota's again and hope you guys will still follow my thread
With the extra $2200 I can get a nice set of brakes to fit behind the new wheels!!

I know exactly how you are feeling, I put in my order for some black SSR's about 3 weeks ago and come to found out they stopped making them in 8.5 5x100. I just wish I could fit the Sti limited BBS wheels on my car without going the spacer route

Another option you might like is the Work emotion 11r in 18x8.5 5x100, +47. That is probably what I will end up going with in flat black, but they also make them in a matte bronze which you might like more.

That totally is another option but I feel myself caught in another problem that I like the wheels a little more then the Rota's, but not $1000 more, they are cheaper then the SSR's or Advan's but still not cheap enough to sway me to justify the higher price.

I actually really like the Rota's but I always see how much they are hated here, and I understand why but when it comes down to it, we live with what we buy and only we are they final judges!
