so i just read through your entire thread and I have to say, I admire all the work you've put into your car. The quality parts and the ability to know when an upgrade just turns into overkill makes this car so awesome. To add on top of that, everything has been done by you! I'm so impressed and inspired! haha although I doubt my outback will be making ~300hp any time soon

An STi... Always wished I got one instead of the WRX.

Thanks man! I've enjoyed the build so far and love the direction that I've gone with it. It's fun and reliable, clean and functional.

Even though the above comment leads to me wanting an STi, I'm still proud of the car I built and would only change if I knew the car went to a proud owner, a.k.a. my wife. Otherwise, I'm in it for the long haul.

Cheers!

Yeah, it's a bummer about her car but glad we weren't in or near the car. All parts are on order and it will back and better than before! She'll never give up a manual, not sure she knows how to drive automatic, lol

Let get ready to mod yours

She's ready to pull the trigger soon but I'm secretly hoping she takes mine. She drives it just as much as I do but she likes the DGM over the SWP . I guess twin contrasting WRX's wouldn't be too bad looking in the garage, haha

Finally finished up the step-by-step write up of the TSX-R clear lens install. You can find the thread by clicking the image below or (HERE)

Nice write up, bud. Curious if you have STI projectors in there? Or just the stock halogens? I highly suggest upgrading to the STI's with the TSX-R lenses. Great improvement!

Hey Overland, quick question for you:
When you relocated your clock to the center console cubby, did you modify the plastic console part at all to make room for the wires (ie. dremel a slot or drill a hole in the plastic somewhere) ? I'm asking because I plan to place a gauge down in the center cubby, but am not sure whether or not the wires will get pinched when I assemble everything back together.

TIA!

Since have a limited, my car came with HID's. No swap needed.

There is room in the back to run wires without pinching. Plenty of room to go up, back, or down depending on where you need to go with your harness.

Touche. Didn't realize you had a limited. I have a base, so I had to do the whole nine. Nice update to the hatch! Lighting mods are always fun mods to do. It can get addicting!

After driving my car all weekend in NY/NJ there are two things I realized:

1. I love the clear TSX lenses

2. My car runs way better on 93 octane. Maine only has 91... and it sucks

Happy Columbus Day!

your wallet probably prefers maine's 91 to nyc's 93. my wrx just sits in my driveway all week long since i train it into manhattan everyday. nyc gas prices make 93 painful, especially when its close to $5

It wasn't too bad.. 91 in Maine is $4.05 and in NY was $4.30 for 93. Filed up twice and still have a 1/4 tank left to enjoy for the next day or so.

Not looking forward to go back to 91. On the bright side, it's not as bad as the Cali 91oct. That stuff really blows.
