I have just shy of 10k on my 2012 but I bought it in august at 6750. Longest trip so far was boston to Montreal and back. Ski season and hometown/family 2 hours away in NH will not help.

Front end bulb upgrades go in this weekend. I'm trying to figure out a way for you to paint my lights (even considered picking up a 2nd set of housings). Love the work and the fact that you are in Maine!

Haha, we all have different reasons to mod and stay stimulated. Robb's build has been a pleasure to watch over the past few years.
Pumped for a 6 speed swap, I've been wanting to do it for so long but It's for no other reason than to just have one. No need at my power level.

Send some panels in, I'd love to start wrapping your interior parts!!

That's a good plan with the transmission, not sure what the street value on the stock 5-speed but I'm sure it's better than a broken 5-speed, lol

So jealous of e85, not even for the power. It's the smell I'm addicted to, haha.

True well I see people putting the 5 speed for sale on here with way more mileage for around 1500 obo so I figure that's where I'll start if I get around 2k for that clutch flywheel driveshafts and diff then I'll be completely happy and te smell of e85 is awesome

I know, i will. I just have to find the right time to take the car off the road for a few days. Realistically it will be in April when the suspension is getting done.

lol yea you never know when the bashing will come on nasioc.

so my question(s) are, i want to go stage two and already have my cobb sf w/box purchased and am now shopping for a down pipe. i originally wanted my stage two to consist of downpipe/intake/bpv then tune (i know you cannot run these parts without a tune). but then i saw your PW top mount and it got me thinking. i guess my question is, if i were to just do the mods i mentioned would it be truly reliable stage 2 with just a tune? or would i need to add more supporting mods like fuel pump, one step colder ngk, ect? or is that only if i get an intercooler? thanks!

-Kevin

you'll be completely fine with an intake/box/downpipe and a protune. i'd suggest a cat back, up pipe and headers - as well as a number of suspension upgrades - before an upgraded intercooler but to each his own. fuel pump/injectors and such would probably be done around the same time as the intercooler but i believe they can be considered mods independent of each other. one guys opinion. good luck!

thank you^

sorry to thread jack, last question...

do i absolutely need an upgraded fuel pump/injecters with an upgraded top mount? since you said they are mods independent of each other does that mean this just for further reliability?

No stage 2 build should be done without a Catless up pipe, injectors, fuel pump and new plugs! We live in an imperfect world, leave room for fueling!!

it depends what you want. People have just done a downpipe and a tune since the WRX was on the market.

you do not NEED more fuel for stage two, but is it a good idea? yes. it all depends how aggressive you will go.

if oyu stick to 18-19 PSI the stock stuff will be fine most likely, anything more than that i'd suggest looking into fueling because your stock injectors will be maxed out and the car wont be able to save itself if you can add more fuel....

i would really recommend a TMIC. the stock one is plastic, and while it does work, that is the weakest point on the car, those plastic end tanks are known to come apart, if you found a good deal on a PW TMIC, jump on it!

you do not need injectors for a TMIC either. the stock BPV is also fine. unless you want a BOV (which i DO NOT recommend) keep it until you go to a bigger turbo/more boost.

also, if you're going catless i would really recommend an EBCS. DO NOT do a header without more fuel (inj/FP) its about safety, and with a header/ewg you can run more boost or keep the same boost and not taper, thus you need more fuel...

Out of all the boards I'm registered on, this is by far one of my favorite builds. Everything about it is well thought out, and perfect for a DD, without blindly throwing money at exepnsive/bling parts. Awesome job. It's your car that make's me consider trading my 05 STi for a hatch.

Quick question, do you have a write up, or where/what materials were purchased for your alcantara interior pieces? I'd love to do this to my MR2T since the interior was made in the 90's and is extremely dated.

Any tips/help you can give is appreciated.

Jive, thats exactly what i needed to know thank you. more fuel=more reliability and pw top mount>stock top mount. thanks man. And thank you overland for all the cool stuff you post on this thread, really informative. keep it up!

Haven't looked into up pipe options yet but I thought our up pipes were catless already, I thought catted were only on the older models?

You are correct, the up-pipe on (i think) 06 and up is catless. The older models have it for sure. That's not to say an up-pipe isn't a good upgrade, but you can make a lot more power and flow by upgrading to a catless or high flow catted DP like overlands. More fuel is always a plus!
