Default Smoke coming from engine.

I just bought my car and I took it for a drive today and after an hour arrived home and was letting it cool down because i was kinda pushing it a little hard just to see how it felt (awesome btw)

But as I was sitting in my car idling in my drive way I noticed somke coming from the engine.

The temperature guage didnt register and change but I shut the engine off and popped the hood. It smelt like coolant, but I could be wrong.

My car is all stock Just bought it, I called the dealer and left a message because they werent there.

I know that in my old car I installed a SRI which required the coolant hose to be redirected and due to my shoddy install, was causing a coolant leak in the engine bay and making the temp guage turn up.

But I never got and smoke from that.

If anyone has an idea as to what it could be that would be awesome. But ultimatley its the dealers problem, I mean I JUST bought it.

Did you get a warranty with that?

The temp gauge didn't register... at all?

Were your cooling fans coming on?

Sounds like you're going to need some new head gaskets, machining of heads... expect a couple grand.

I hope you got a warranty.

yeah theres a warranty and the temp gauge stayed the same.

idk if the fans were on. it was extremely cold out.

i dont think its that serious because like i said, I did see coolant leaking.

Coolant smells sweet, oil smells like bad BBQ. Have you checked all your fluid levels?

I'd check your head gaskets. Look for seapage of oil and/or coolant from the head. Is coolant spewing all over the engine? If it is, change your coolant cap out. If it continues, probably a bad head gasket, as the cooling system may be over pressurized...the worst news many subaru owners have faced head on is a bad head gasket

I thought you said you smelled coolant? Was there any coolant related problem as well?

Oil coming out of timing cover? Front engine seals? 4 new tires?

Sounds like an expensive trip.
