Default Favorite OEM Seats?

So I have seen multiple debates, but all scattered and never an actual thread, so what are you favorite OEM Impreza seats? I have heard very good things about the 02/03 WRX and 07 STi seats, although I personally have used them.
(Also does anybody know the difference between 04-07 STi or 04-07 WRX seats, OR the difference 04-07 STi seats AND 04-07 WRX seats?)

02 and 03 WRX seats best USDM seat. best JDM seat has to be V7 STI seat.

It's subjective.

"Best" really is going to be subjective, and depend on what you intend to do. The best seat for comfort is typically not going to be the best seat to hold a person in place, and it's going to vary with a persons physical dimensions.

My WRX wagon seats are perfect for me, they hold me in place satisfactorily, they are comfortable, and they cost me nothing since they were the factory seat for the car, so that makes them the "best" seat for my use and budget They probably wouldn't be the "best" seat for somebody who was using the car for only autocross or open track events and use a 5 point harness..

I know you can't really define best, but for daily driving and just in general what people like.
I'm looking to swap seats and want to stay OEM but am trying to figure out what year would be the best to look for. (Obviously I would test then first.)

I have had close to all of the seats and the above statement is a fact.

The 04-07 seats are terrible, so much lumbar that anything above my lower back doesn't touch the seat, just pushes me forward.

I have sat in USDM STI seats, USDM bugeye seats, USDM 04 WRX seats, and JDM version 7 seats, and version 8 seats.

JDM version 7 being the best (which is why I bought mine).

Unless ur hulk hogan or a fat elephant, JDM is the best.

Ive had jdm v8 seats for a few years, and comparatively to the 02/3 seats, they are stiffer, especially bolsters, with better back support yet sit higher. It also doesn't help that I haven't replaced the lhd seatbase

Having sat in the V7s for only a little while, I didn't think there was much difference. The side bolstering looks different but felt the same to me. Stiffness was all relative. Frankly if you could get either id say go for it, they are fantastic seats and unlike their usdm counterparts the jdms actually hold you in place!

I've had an '02, '06 w/ leather, and now an '11. IMO the 2011 seats are the best I've tried. They rank pretty highly for me in terms of look, comfort, and hold (I did the seat bolster mod).

@JWill7, I do really like the 11s, never sat in them, but they're really nice looking for stock seats.

Do they have airbags? I really want to swap out mine, but want to make sure they work 100% in terms of airbags and sensors.

06/07 wrx/sti limited leather heated seats for USDM. 08+ JDM/EDM Recaro(one with airbag and heat). For performance single piece race bucket seats from JDM(think they were in RA models)

That was kind of my first choice, trying to trade my 06 2.5i seats for 06 WRX seats and then seeing about custom seat covers in either alcantara or leather. Glad to see somebody likes them!

What's your definition of best? Most comfortable? Most supportive?

I think the "best" OEM Subaru seat is this:

Spec-C RA-R:

The most supportive USDM seat would be the 02/03 WRX seats.

I hated the 02/03 wrx seats. They had excellent bolsters, but the lumbar support was...well there was none! I like the current 08+ STi seats. The 09+ wrx seats arent too shabby either.

I'm gonna rename it, I meant favorite, just trying to see what people like for OEM seats.

02/03 were good if you're not fat. Subaru got tons of complaints that fat Americans couldn't fit in the tight seats, so had to adjust to fit the greatest common denominator.

Wow. I didn't know 02/03 seats were this popular. I've been wanting 04 Sti seats.

*goes outside to sit in seats to rethink trading*
