Default Magnaflow vs Invidia Q300 13 sedan

Search barred and couldn't find much. Someone is looking to trade me their 3 inch magnaflow catback for my q300 catback (I'm going louder he's going quieter). How much louder is the magnaflow catback and what are some differences.

The MagnaFlow is loud. My buddy has it on his STi, and you can hear him coming. Cold start he says it's crazy, and it does drone a bit at highway speeds. Gets lots of compliments, but it's too loud for my DD. I suspect a resonator would be much better; he's going with a downpipe soon and I think that may put it over the top.

Pretty sure Magnaflow uses slip fit style connections that clamp for all their systems. This makes assembly and removal a pain as the u-clamp piches pipes together. This also allows the system to twist and become unaligned. I like Magnaflow, but I have had to tack weld every connection on all my prior catbacks from them(all 5)
Another thing is that I'm pretty sure the catbacks from magnaflow for our cars are all T409 which provide some surface rust. The tips are generally T304 tho.

Q300 - bolt style connector flanges. No twisting. T304 stainless, no rust pitting anywhere.

I'd get some money on trade. I can buy a Mag catback for $800 shipped. The Q300 is $1100 or so.

This is good, I've been used to drone and loud vehicles my whole life. Before I had my license my dad owned a 13 camaro with 1le track pack, you can hear it a half mile away no kidding😆

I have the full invidia system but I also have Perrin headers. Sounds great but with the headers it's extremely loud, I feel bad for the neighbors when I leave the house early in the morning

I had the same problem. I had Q300 turboback with no headers and I liked the sound. I later added a Perrin ELH and the sound level was insane. It was so bad that I was pulled over for it and have had other cops follow me because of it. I later changed to a Maddad Whisper and now I have a pretty stealthy setup. My vote is for Maddad Whisper all day every single time. Anything louder than the Whisper is just asking for problems especially down the road if you add headers.
