I have the Nitrous Express kit. Pace is using the NOS brand kit. They are both very good and I would feel comfortable using either.
I would NOT get ZEX or any other dry manifold kit for use on a forced induction vehicle. |

Hey phast,
What is the part number for your kit? Is it just the nx import kit. How was the install? thanks, John |

Yes, it is just the import EFI kit. I actually think all the fogger kits from NX are identical regardless of the several "variations" they advertise.
Anyway, the install happens tomorrow. Pace has already done the install on his car, so I don't expect too many problems. I'll post back tomorrow afternoon. |

Hey Jay,
Someone told me you were going to ditch your VF30 for a VF22? Did you do it yet? If so what do you think? Looks like I may go the same route, or even bigger, plus a 50 shot and all will be good in the universe. JaMa |

50 shot is tempting for me as well for the low end. Mikes 50 shot nitrous basically felt like a unichip and a turbo back exhaust on an otherwise stock WRX.

So when you use nitrous is it like a crazy surge of power or just subtle?
Like a 50 shot. |

DUDE quit watching Fast and the Furious. A 50 shot isn't going to be insane power. It will be sligthy noticable but not anything jaw dropping. If you want insane power try a 200 shot.

DUDE I'm asking a question here
I have no idea what a 50 / 100 / 150 / etc. shot would feel like. That's why I'm asking. Don't come in here with your FATF disses ![]() |

Jama: no VF22 yet. Still waiting on the fine folks at Turbo Specialties to get off their collective asses and send a turbo out so that I can steal Dave's VF22.
As for the nitrous, a 50 shot may or may not be a huge kick in the pants. On forced induction vehicles it depends on how maxed out your current setup is(turbo, intercoooler, etc). If you have a maxed out setup and your on the limits of the turbo systems efficiencies, the cold blast of NAWZ is gonna wake the turbo back up and put it back closer to its sweet spot. however, if you are running a fairly conservative setup with super efficient everything else, the gains won't be as noticeable. I've seen times ranging from .4 to a 1.0 off the quarter mile ET on various WRXs. It's all about whatcha got under the hood to begin with. Just don't expect the view out of your widshield to get blurry or , god forbid, even go PLAID! <-- Spaceballs and TFATF disses! Wh00t! ![]() |

Oh and just a FYI Jay. I decided against the FMIC for the following reasons. Last night I went out to see what max. boost I could run on my current setup was. I chickened out but the highest I ran was a couple of 3rd gear pulls at 1.39bar =~ 112kPa with LESS knock activity (as per Link logs) at 65F than at 1.23bar on a 90F day!! So I don't know... I will make a decision on a FMIC AFTER I try out the new turbo I think . |

1.34 bar = 19.4351 psi so that's not too shabby.
So some turbo swapping going on, huh? An SR40 should be nice if you go that route. I'm kinda thinking of what turbo to do myself. Have fun. TRS |
