Added a generic reverse camera to my Sport Limited, hooks right in with SVXdc's 8 pin AV harness, reverse was already prewired, just needed the ground to complete the circuit.

Nope, the ground on the harness completes the circuit, as soon as you put it in reverse, the radio flicks over to camera mode.
1. 8 pin harness $25.80 from SVXdc
2. CCD Camera from Ebay $35
3. Solder and shrink wrap

Took about 2 hours to do.

Is SVXdc a website? I googled it and didn't see anything. Can you link us to the auction? Any chance you took pictures during the process to do a write up?

SVXdc is a member on the boards. This should answer your question

Thanks. Yes my snowboard is 158 cm and fits fine with the hatch open. You can put your board upside down too if you wish. BTW, the aeroblade bars make almost zero noise. I just wished I bought the Yakima Fatcat 6 which is sleeker and better looking.

That's good to hear, my skiis are 181 cm so I don't think they would fit. That's good to hear (no pun intended). I have the Thule Aero bars with fairing and it's a little noisy. The Thule ski attachment will be replaced next season with something else due to noise. Car looks good btw!

This is the Canadian Sport Model comes std with the larger rear spoiler- we don't get roof rack rails and titanium coloured rims like the American Sport model.

Take the skis off first then open the hatch or move the skis forward. 460R Aeroblade bars (shaped like a wing) don't need a fairing.

I don't have an issue now anyways. I don't have the roof spoiler. I also have last year's model of the aero bars so they're not the air foil (wing) shape. You're also limited with skiis placement as you can only place them so far forward based on Subaru's recommendations and available area to mount the cross bars.

You can order the wheels separately and put them on, but IIRC they are not an option from the factory.

I like the black n' tan interior. Brightens things up a bit instead of being brooding and miserable.

i like the look of the tan, but in my experience with other cars, in time, it's hard to keep clean or from looking dirty/stained over the years.

black interior of course, shows dust and dirt, too, but i think in the end, it hides stains/dirt better in the long term.

any of you guys coming from an modded STI or wrx? my 2011 was in a serious rear end collision and i'm debating getting rid of it for lower payments and something more practical for a 21 y/o kid.

any things some of you hate about the car? is it decent as far as any performance, i have a 2013 corolla rental and its MISERABLE. thanks for any input.

oh and has anyone dumped one yet?

Jive, get the 5-speed! I'm curious about which wheels you'd throw on an Impreza. haha Talk to ST Eye and a couple other guys on here that still have an STI. I know another member on here went from a 2011 WRX to a 2012 Impreza the same as I planned to do last year (and still would like to do during my more "mature" moments).

I see these everywhere up here. I really like them. So practical. Gas is almost $4.50/gal (for 90 octane) up here and I've resolved to not drive as much because of it, which is pretty much missing the point of being in Alaska during the summer. You gotta get out!

I do hate the door mirrors, but that's IT. At this point I'm curious to see what changes for the 2013 Impreza. Minute changes, I'm sure. I would want to order one, so I'd be stuck waiting anyways.

I can't believe you can't get black/white exterior with interior black leather.

If you're coming from a WRX or STI to this car you have to expect performance like the Corolla. If you're expecting more, you will be disappointed IMO. If you surrender the fact that you'll be saving money on gas and monthly payments at the expense of power and performance than you'll be very happy with the Impreza. Before pulling the trigger, I would definitely test drive one if you can.

I am a manual transmission type of guy personally, but I will say that I like the CVT better than the 5 speed. It feels peppier off the start and is very smooth, plus it's a little bit better on gas (according to the EPA).

If you can't seem to give up the HPs, I would look into a Civic Si. It's decent on gas and has a bit more power than the Impreza. But given your age, I would be more inclined towards practicality. You have plenty of time for faster cars.

i'm going to see if the local dealer has one to test drive. i know its not a race car, but if you don't believe me, go test drive a BASE corolla with the smallest engine they offer 1.8l i think? car is so heavy that this motor is useless. and you know i'd only get a stick, my mom's outback has cvt, its weird

and i'll never be caught dead owning a FWD car, unless its the ultimate ****box mpg car to drive to work and home, thats it.
