Could be worse, it's illegal in my state to have any tint on the front windows and windshield. So it's kinda pointless to do it since it looks stupid with half the car tinted.

I lived in NJ for most my life, it does suck that you can't tint the front windows. However you can limo tint the rest of the car. MD has the same laws as Suby Noobie, I was elated to hear that you can tint the front windows despite the 35% limitation. Still looks better than no tint.

Alaska, land of the midnight sun, only allows 5" for the eyebrow and 70% all around, technically, or 40% with doctor's note.

We have bro trucks everywhere, so it sucks when they're behind you. Also there's a heightened awareness of WRX/STI at the moment since several have attempted to evade the police (and we believe one WRB WRX got away), so I've been pulled over twice recently for my 30% tint up front and another buddy has been pulled over 5 times in the last month, but he's 5% ALL around... So, yeah, you guys have it relatively easy. Dealing with the sun at 11PM is no fun when you're fishbowl status. haha

Are you stationed out there? Or you just like igloos and Eskimos?

Ha! Born and raised here, going on almost 28 years, but I apparently have no business being here. I almost moved before the Lower 48 crashed back in 2008/2009, so now I'm just waiting for the upturn. Hopefully ya'll will be ready for me by 2014/2015. haha

This possibility is the only reason I haven't more seriously considered the Impreza. I'm known for keeping cars 1-1 and 1/2 years, but I wouldn't want to do that with the new Impreza. If I move it won't be somewhere that I'll require it, most likely.

For long-term the BRZ holds my interest because it gets better mileage than a WRX and the size keeps others away from wanting to use it for a taxi service. It's why I got the 2001 2.5 RS coupe before. haha

We seriously need less quoting of the MBP Impreza, guys...

Well here in CA you it's "illegal" for the front windows and windshield to have any tint, however...no one abides by the laws here.

In NY the tint level for front windows can be 70% visible light which is what most factory glass measures at without any tint. So technically, you can't tint the front but everybody does... just lighter than the back. Some go 50%, I went with 35%.

In a sedan the back is the same, 70% & any darkness can be used in the back windshield. Front windshield can have a 6" brow at any level so long as it's not reflective. Hatchbacks go by SUV rules and back windows and windshield can be as dark as you want.

In Buffalo they pretty much leave you alone. In the suburbs so long as your front windows aren't less than 20% you're generally safe. Some suburbs are notorious for pulling you over & hassling you for fronts but don't really ticket.

Legal tint in OH is 50% front, so I don't want to hear any complaining

I love my DGM but, MBP looks amazing in that sun. If I ever get a WRX...

That MBP looks a lot darker than our MPB. I am wondering if its the lighting or processing, or do they really vary that much in tone range?

I do notice the car seems to vary a bit depending on the lighting, but thats darker than ours looks under ANY lighting. I am jealous if they have darkened it, as I thought it could use a bit more punch, although I am still OK with ours.

Interesting, this was my top cooler choice, but ended up with DGM as it was my wife's fave and my second choice.

I liked the MPP because it reminded me of my prior car which was a dark green pearl: The cars have different personalities depending on lighting... Almost black at night and different shades thought the day and evening.

If Pennsylvania has 70% tinting law... what is the lowest I can likely go percentage wise to avoid becoming a cop magnet? I was considering possibly 35% in the front and darker for the rear and back windows?

70%.. Lol

Same restriction in California, but im using 50%, and passed by Many cops. I personally think 35% would be a magnet. But it also depends how strict your county is.
