Daily driver detail day!! Put the WRX OEM set up on the daily driver and will save the Conti ExtremeContact DWS for winter use.

Realized that the base 2.0i model does not have a rear sway bar...hahaha. I need to find some brackets and uplinks so that I can install the STi 19mm bar I have.

And mine is that any Impreza/WRX/STI 2008 and newer looks like ****. 1st and 2nd generation FTW!

They are 17s?

I am sure you can find some on ebay or in the classifieds here. I took them off my 2012 WRX. I have the ATEQ scanner/programmer, so resetting the TPMS is not an issue, takes maybe 3 minutes total. Outside of that, they are a direct fit. The OEM WRX wheels like that are 17x8, et53, and have 235/45/17 tires on them. They fit nicely without any issues at all.

Did not care. But I am sure it will be a little loss...but that is irrelevant to me. If you are only concerned with MGP...then go smaller wheel diameter, to reduce weight, and then get a much thinner tire...like the OEM base wheels that are 15inch rims with a 195 tire on them. That will increase your MPG.

I am less concerned about losing 3MPG than most people here with the new Impreza....I do it for style

fair point. I was just wondering, but will not change my choice either way. I heard tire type can also affect mpg.
But it definitely looks great with the red lug nuts. I will be on the look out for those rims.

higher MPG tires lose performance/traction. In efforts to decrease rolling resistance, the compounds are less traction oriented. I'd rather have a great handling tire, for cornering and braking than an extra MPG or 2 due to compound or MPG rating. Again, just a personal preference. I have more value in being able to "drive" the car than someone else that may be much more concerned about ultimate reduction in environmental impact. That is the great thing about any car, you can make it what you want!!

Correct me if I am wrong, so basically, 2012 wrx have a 5x100 bolt pattern whereas the 2012 sti is 5x114.3? or is that the 2011 version?

I wanted the STI rims but realized it was not 5x100.

Yes, 2012 WRX are 5x100. Sti changed bolt pattern a while back, they have always been different, where the WRX has always been 5x100

5x100 to 5x114.3 spacer adapters, sir. They work fine and are lovely.



I will warn you that 18" STI wheels are HEAVY, so be prepared to sacrifice some MPG. You'll look dang good, though, fo sho!

Looks great Chanomatik, what do the spacers look like? Didn't know they made them!

On a side note, the 2008 STI base model wheels are heavy as well. I shaved a ton of weight when I went to the Volk RE-30.

Thanks! I hearted those 2011 Enkei wheels. I stuck to tight corners like crazy with them on.

Spacer adapter will look like these:



You'll need M12 1.25 (I believe that's the correct sizing) tapered lug nuts, open-ended. I've been looking at purchasing a new set and some come with them already, which is nice. Torque them down, slap on the wheels and use your regular lugs and you're good to go! These are the equivalent of stock STI wheels on a stock STI using 5mm spacers to make them more flush. No rubbing, comfortable ride height for Alaskan standards.

Speaking of STI rims... I just saw the remnants of an accident earlier. A totally destroyed black car and right beside it, an 18 wheeler with damage along the sides. By the way it looks, the car went underneath the truck.. a ghastly sight.

I was able to identify the car as an STI cuz of the rims... aside from that, its totally unrecognizable
