Being that the car is still relatively new to me I pulled an oops tonight.
Noticed that I had a headlight out.
Stopped at autozone, pulled the offending light, and since Ive racked up some points on my rewards card I treated myself those "top-shelf" silverstars. Also picked up a 7443 for my brake/taillight that was out.

Got home, popped the taillight in ... perfect.
Popped the headlight in ... nothing. Fiddled a bit ... nothing.
Popped the other one in to at at least see what they look like ... nothing.

Then realized the 9005 I pulled in the dark parking lot was the high beam. So now I have some fancy high-beams and will be going back in the AM to get some fancy H1s for the headlights.

Good news is I had a high beam out as well but wasnt too concerned just yet since I dont use them ever.

I'm running 2004 Sti housings with 2005 shocks and JDM Sti pink springs and it's awesome, I highly recommend it. Cheap find in the classifieds.

Racelands FTW!! They have been on my car for over a year, and I have no reason to complain. They also have a 2yr warranty I believe, so thats always nice

So I debadged the grille yesterday.
Shot it in a nice gloss black

But then my clear coat got confused and thought it was wrinkle paint:

Annoying. Currently waiting for it to dry so I can sand it down and try again

You get what you pay for basically. They are meant for Daily Driving and I don't notice them to be any different than any other car with coils. But then again I am one of those people who wont drop 3k on coils

Had the day off so I decided to tackle getting the downstream o2 sensor spacer out of the midpipe.

Had to unbolt the mid-pipe from the header, unbolt the mid-pipe supporting bracket and slip off the third farthest-back exhaust hanger to get enough room to twist the 90* spacer out without it hitting the underside of the car

Then the o2 sensor seemed to have fused itself into the spacer, so I hit it with some penetrating oil
While it set for a few minutes I decided to remove the leftover bracket from removing the AC that supports the alternator cable, a few zip ties cleaned that up

Then I got the sensor out

Re-assembled everything and realized that with the sensor coming out of the mid-pipe normally, there isnt enough length to plug the sensor back in, so up top I had to get some more room from the harness.
This is how it looks stock

and how I had to tweak it

Then I ventured out into the "hurricane" and drove about 30 miles, no CEL so far. Hope that solves it

Check engine light came back on
To This:

So im thinking the o2 sensor still needs to be spaced. So I used an old one from my old car I had laying around.

Lets see if that does the trick

I'm 16 and I just got a 2002 Pearl Ridge Blue RS. At first I was ecstatic at owning a Subaru, then I became sad that it didn't have a turbo, and finally I came to appreciate that you don't necessarily need a turbo to love an RS. All of that being said, I'm still a total noob when it comes to car stuff but I've already started some small mods. I have taken the spoiler off and also I'm going to replace the muffler with a nice ebay can until I can re-do a whole exhaust. I just want to mention that I just read everything in this thread, and I'm really impressed with how much work you put into this beauty! Although I honestly like 04+ better than my current bugeye, I think I'm going to stick with it for a couple years and see what I can do. For now, I'm just figuring stuff out. BTW, I think you should get hella supertones, they would look really awesome in your de-badged grille.

Nice man. Stick around the forums and learn, pretty much what ive done on this one and my last car.

...and puhlease-o-please dont get an ebay can. It wont sound good if its just the muffler, and doing it just for the look is very honda-ish.

Too late! Oh well, what would you suggest that I get then? Cat back? I don't want to drop a grand into an exhaust right now, that's the thing.

If sound is what you want. Just start with an unequal length header, it brings out the boxer subie rumble even linked to the stock exhaust

Those are usually pretty expensive for a NA subie. Plus you will still need some sort of catback.
I would either get a STi catback or if you can find one a SPT axelback.
Without the unequal length headers it will sound pretty Honda-ish, but a STi/SPT exhaust still has a decent sound to it since it's not that loud.

Was so sure the check engine light was gone this time ...

... but then at 1:30 last night innocently driving through BVille being "escorted" by two police cars that apparently had nothing better to do ... booop ... it came back on.

Gonna read the code tomorrow at work, wondering if getting an extended sensor and using the bung farthest back on the midpipe may do the trick ...

Two days ago, I was on my way to work and it had just snowed and it hadn't been plowed yet. Being a new driver, I hadn't ever driven on snow, so I took the first corner as I normally would. I'd say I was going no more than 15mph when I hit the curb sideways. I hit both rear and front wheel on the curb, although it wasn't that hard of an impact. When the snow cleared up, I realized that the steering wheel needed to be turned about 30% to the left to go straight. When I looked at my rear wheel, it was cambered (the bad way). Also, it is making a knocking noise when I drive. I just had it checked over, and the mechanic told me I basically have to replace everything that holds the wheel, along with the control arm and that stuff. I'm not very knowledgeable, but I'd say hitting the curb going 15mph should not cost me $2500 bucks. Is it likely he's trying to rip me off? Here's the estimate:

Rear Knuckle Bolts ORIGINAL PRICE:$22.93
Right Front Steering Knuckle ORIGINAL PRICE:$285.00
Right Rear Knuckle ORIGINAL PRICE:$307.50
Right Rear Trailing Arm ORIGINAL PRICE:$89.53
Right Rear Strut......................... ........PART NO: NS 72412 ORIGINAL PRICE:$184.81
Right Front Strut......................... .......PART NO: NS 72158 ORIGINAL PRICE:$144.13
Right Front Wheel Bearing....................... .PART NO: BRG FW176 ORIGINAL PRICE:$85.06
Tie Rod Inner L............................. .....PART NO: NCP 2693506 ORIGINAL PRICE:$74.25
Right Rear Wheel Bearing....................... ..PART NO: BRG GRW175 ORIGINAL PRICE:$112.51
______________________
PARTS TOTAL : $1,306.26
LABOR : $1,253.01
TOTAL W/ TAX
AND INSTALL : $2,559.27

Is it likely that I actually need ALL of that stuff? The rear wheel is tilted a little, one of the wheels makes a sound when I drive. I'm sure it's just a Tie rod and a bearing.

Guessing hes new to forums and doesn't know about thread jacking.

Anywho, not entirely sure about the estimate. Havnt shopped for wheel/suspension bits yet. But anytime you have someone else do the work for your the cost goes up considerably.
