Default OT Snowmobile Q's, but in Canada :)

Hey All..

I know this is really off topic, and I would ask it somewhere else, however I know we Canadians like to help each other out as much as possible..

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a 2-up Polaris Seat (perferably used) that would fit an Indy Sled? The Sled is a 91 RXL, however I have heard that a 95ish Indy 400 2-up seat will fit.. I am hoping to find something in the Toronto area as shipping would be awkward..

Please let me know if anyone can think of anything..

Thanks!!

Lightbulb 7up....er I mean 2up!

Red98GT,
You shouldn't have too much trouble locating one.
Any seat from an indy chassis will fit (except the indy light series). I believe the year range for that chassis is from 87-95. Your machine is dark blue in color right? So you would want to source a seat with compatible seat covering (unless you don't mind getting it re-upholstered). I think your best bet would be to look for a seat from and Indy Sport 440, or Indy 500 SKS, I believe both of those in the late 80's early 90's came in blue and with a 2-up seat.
Call around to some Polaris dealers, to see if they have anything kicking around the shop.
I'm sure there's a snomobile recycler somewhere nearby.
You can also try Royal Distributing (in Barrie ON, I think) and/or Coffee Distributing (also in the Barrie area).
They both have websites and I think it's www.theirname.com or .ca

That could be a staring point if nothing else.

Try www.autotrader.ca and then ATV and Sled Trader to look for
specifically for a snowmobile. I don't know how many ads for
sleds there will be this time of year, but it is getting close for
people to start getting ancy for new stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions!!!

I don't think that Royal would carry anything.. I have yet to see something like that there, however they do have a corkboard inside with private sales..

When you say Coffey Distributing, do you mean Don Coffey Sales?

The trader is a great idea, however no one wants to sell their sleds yet..

Oh.. has anyone heard what the winter is supposed to be like in Southern Ontario yet this year?? I certainly hope it is nothing like the last..

Thanks!

Yeah that's the one. I think they may have chaged their name at some point. I used to order all my parts from either coffee or royal. Both are equally good to deal with.

Maybe not, but I do know that they carry seat covers for pretty much any model of snowmobile.

Cheers,
Chad
